On our family vacation recently, our 1st stop, we had the pleasure of dining at Metro Diner, that left US absolutely impressed. The dishes that we tried were absolutely delicious & full of flavor, making for a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Firstly, my wife ordered the Charleston shrimp & grits which were out of this world. The grits were made into a cakes & perfectly cooked, top with a creamy sauce & served with large succulent shrimp that had been expertly seasoned. The dish had just the right amount of spice, the flavors were well balanced, making it a dish that my wife would order time & time again being that she is a huge fan of seafood.
I ordered, The beef tips served with homemade mashed potatoes with mushrooms & brown gravy, The beef was cooked to perfection, & the mushroom gravy was rich & flavorful. The mashed potatoes were creamy & smooth, with just the right amount of butter & seasoning. It was an incredibly satisfying & comforting dish that left me feeling completely satisfied.
Now on to The crispy, yet juicy chicken & fluffy waffles with strawberry butter was another standout dish. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior & juicy, tender meat. The waffles were light & fluffy, with a delicious hint of sweetness that paired perfectly with the savory chicken. The strawberry butter added a lovely fruity flavor that brought the entire dish together.
The portions were very generous, even the kid’s menu had LARGE portions making it great value for money, & we appreciated the effort put into the presentation of each dish. The flavors & textures were all expertly balanced, making each a true delight.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious, satisfying meal. The shrimp & grits, beef tips & mashed potatoes, the chicken and waffles were all exceptional dishes that were full of flavor and made for an unforgettable dining experience. We WOULD DEFINITELY BE BACK!! Definitely a memorable dining experience that left a...
Read moreLet me start off with saying I completely understand it’s Mothers Day, crowds, customers, etc, I get it. But the experience we just had was disgusting. We placed a to go order this morning at 8:22 am and were told it would be 20-25 minutes. Because it is Mother’s Day we naturally assumed it would be busy and did not show up to the restaurant until 9am. When we came in all 3 hosts were laughing joking and paying absolutely no attention. We got their attention and let them know we had placed a Togo order. Without even looking us in the eyes said it’ll be done soon and went back to loudly joking about how it doesn’t matter who they sit when everyone is annoyed anyways. During this time there are 4 bags of food at the Togo counter, and 3 on the pick up shelf. While sitting on the bench waiting patiently the hosts continued joking about customers, and blowing off door dash drivers who eventually had to grab their own orders off of the shelf. After sitting there for 28 minutes we eventually ask about the food once again. He rolls his eyes and whispers to a girl at the other counter and snatches a bag of food that had been there since before we even came in. I asked the lady at the to go counter why we had to sit and look at our food that had been there for 30 minutes and said it would be cold. She puts her hand in our bag says the food is still warm to the touch and they can’t just remake it. Then proceeds to tell me that the host just informed her I was there and it’s not their fault. So after this horrible experience I paid, with no tip and asked for no receipt, she purposely prints my receipt out, reads it, Crumbles it and tosses it in my bag only to make a comment under her breath about no tip on Mother’s Day. And when we got home the food was so incredibly cold that the 10 year old wouldn’t even eat without having to air fry her meal.
Every other experience here has been great but as a human being I want to apologize to every mother who chooses to endure this...
Read moreMy family and I visited The Metro Diner on what was unfortunately our last day in Florida. We wish we would've known about this place sooner. We walked in, and although busy, the hostess was quick and very accommodating to seat my fiance, one year old and myself. Our waiter (Alex) was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment he came over to take our drink orders, to going above and beyond to help help us in making our selection when it came time to choose what we wanted to eat, to just great conversation while passing through. The atmosphere was great, our food came out very quick (especially considering how busy they were), pipping hot and very fresh! Alex came back several times to make sure we were satisfied, and made sure our coffee stayed filled, and asked frequently if we needed anything at all. He even checked with us to see if we wanted our one year old to have his food before ours to keep him content. All in all, it was a great experience and a great way to end our trip (even though we're sad we hadn't discovered this place sooner). Also, very clean and tidy bathrooms. We would highly recommend The Metro Diner to anyone and everyone traveling to Palm Coast (even though we've been newly educated on it's numerous locations), this particular location was phenomenal. Kudos to Alex and the entire staff for making our family feel welcomed and for assisting us in getting a great breakfast in! 5 stars all...
