How a restaurant this good can be found in a mall food court is beyond me. But I would RUN not WALK to this place, as this is home made from scratch Peruvian food and a few other items thrown in for good measure to keep locals happy. But the real star here is the Peruvian menu and the husband and wife chef's and their kids that run this place. Having recently visited Peru for two weeks last April, I got to try and love Peruvian food. This place blew my socks off. I can't wait to work my way through the menu. I tried the Lomo Saltado and it was as good, if not better, than anything I had in Lima or other cities in Peru during my recent vacation. It is not sitting in a chaffing dish waiting to dish up. Each item is hand made with fresh ingredients, but expert chefs that could easily transport their talents to a first class restaurant anywhere in the valley. It is amazing to me that the regular spots for lunch are doing all the business and this place should have a line to get the food. Great sauces, perfect spices, and food so good, you won't know what hit you. I'll be back. Please keep this place in mind. Well worth the extra wait to have your meal...
Read moreVolcanic Fusion Kitchen is one of the best choices to eat at while at The shops in Palm Desert. My first time going I had the lomo saltado and it was delicious. Out of all the food options this place by far has the best meat, fries, and veggies. The meat was just how I enjoy it, not too salty but just right and tender. The fries were perfect in width and length being cooked to perfection. In all honesty I would only eat here rather than any other of the options in the food court. The time spent waiting to get my food was reasonable and expected and most importantly worth it. The customer service is very great, theyâre very kind and gentle in tone. I would have shown a photo of the lomo saltado in my review but I finished it so quickly. I recommend Volcanic Fusion Kitchen to any one who happens to find themselves in the food court. Donât think too hard of where to eat when Volcanic Fusion Kitchen is right there...
Read moreYou wouldnât expect to find a place like this in a mall food court, but here it is, blowing all expectations out of the water. The food is something youâd expect to see served at a high-end restaurant, not in the stall previously occupied by Panda Express. I was honestly shocked by how good the meal was. Plus, the food was of such high quality that I felt I should have paid twice as much as I did for it.
After I finished my meal. I went and spoke with the staff a little bit, and I learned that it isn't a chain - It's a one of a kind, and family owned and operated.
So, hereâs my advice: even if you don't have any shopping to do, head to the mall. Go specifically for this restaurant. I know, a food court doesnât exactly scream 'gourmet experience,' but trust me, this place is the exception. You wonât regret...
