Update 06/01/21: Kay Jewelers has updated their system to send an email reminder for 6 month inspection. Very satisfied with this. We have not missed an inspection since, and it greatly improves their customer service. We are very happy with this change:
Original Review: Overall, I am satisfied with my experience. However, there are improvements that could be made in customer service and the communication system. If you have a warranty, it is the customers responsibility to ensure inspection every 6 months, or the warranty is not valid. Kay Jewelers has this information in their computer system. However, it will not notify you when you are due for inspection. Therefore, a warranty will expire, and you will have to pay for any and all repairs if out of warranty. They sent it back, free of charge, in to fix the damages they did to my ring. When I went to pick it up today, the damages were still there as if they didn’t even try fixing what they messed up on my wedding ring. I even compared the pictures from the first damages that they did and realized they were the exact same when I got it back as if they didn’t even try to fix it. Now I will not have my ring for the holiday and having to inconvenience myself with over an hour drive is ridiculous. They don’t give you anything to look at or sign except your bank info. Everything is emailed. You go by what they say. If you need to call turn on your caller ID, if they know it’s a customer they won’t answer. Phoned twice to confirm the payment, they wouldn’t answer, turned on caller ID they answered after the second ring. Manager is shady. The whole store needs an attitude adjustment.
