Came in last night for a late night reservation. It had your typical Brazilian steakhouse style of service. Each person has a dual colored card, you flip it to green when you want the Staff to bring over the fresh grilled meats or flip it to red when you want them to stop. Normally at these types of restaurants you have to wait a little before they get to your table, but this one is doing it right. The moment you flip it green the staff is on top of it. All of the meats were hot, fresh and had a variety of different temperatures to suite everyones personal preference, there was a lot of variety of options as well. The staff was extremely polite and professional from the moment you walked in the door to the moment you signed the bill. They have an adequate selection of wines by the glass that pair well with meats. Additional to the food service on the skewers, they have a large selection of sides, charcuterie style meats and cheeses, Salads, veggies etc for your to choose from thats all included. They also have a large selection of desserts. We did the molten chocolate cake and the turtle cheesecake, both of them were excellent choices. The location is perfect for both locals and tourist. As a local I tend to typically prefer restaurants that aren't in the middle of the madness of downtown due to parking, heavy traffic, tons of tourists etc. This place is at the end of the downtown area on palm canyon and ramon so it's close enough for tourist who want to experience downtown Palm Springs but it's far enough away from the craziness that locals can also easily access it. There's an abundance of parking behind the restaurant in a private parking lot and there's also parallel parking spots on palm canyon. The ambiance inside is very upscale but has a relaxing and welcoming vibe to it. I pretty much dine out every night and am familiar with all the go-to spots and this is definitely on my list of ones worth coming back to. This place is not inexpensive by any means, but you get your money's worth from the service, ambiance and food so it's absolutely worth...
Read moreHonestly our server, gauchos, and our first hostess are the reason they deserve 5 stars, however, the interaction with the last hostess who gave us the bill is the reason they aren’t.
This was our first Brazilian Steakhouse experience and we saw there was a 53$ special. I made sure to add it to the notes in the reservations and when we arrived the hostess confirmed that we were there for the 53$ special. Our hostess and server were knowledgeable about their drink selections and even recommended we get their Caipirinha with condensed milk. The meal was great and the dessert like liquor our server suggested for our dessert was super tasty. When we received the bill I realized we were charged for the main 70$ dinner, no biggie, I asked our server about it since we had reserved for the special. He said he would talk to the manager since he was able to confirm that it what we made our reservation for. Listen, as someone in the food/ customer service industry I have my own feelings about the “customer is always right” slogan but when the hostess that gave us the bill returned she started off very aggressively by stating “I’m not going to argue, but you should have mentioned you were here for the special”. In no moment was I being argumentative, I mentioned the hostess had confirmed it when we checked in with her and assumed it would be communicated to the server. I was once again cut off with “I am not going to argue”, this left a real sour taste in my mouth but again in no moment was there an argument. I think there are better ways of communicating what was said, I’d hate to see the rest of the team suffer for her...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with our visit here, especially for the fine dining price point. After I sat down and got my first plate from the buffet table I flipped my token over to green and watched expectantly for the Gauchos to start bringing over some meat. It took at least 15 minutes for the first meat to finally hit my plate, and that was after pointedly making eye contact with several gauchos who completely ignored me as they walked right by me with skewers full of meat. When I asked the server why they weren't bringing meat to our table we were told "there was an order to how they did the tables" and I could put in an order for some specific meats if I wanted. So I went ahead and put in an order for a filet mignon to come out, but that never arrived either.
Finally, after I had already been sitting there with an empty plate for several minutes and was debating on a second trip to the buffet (which, you know, isn't really why I was there), they brought the first meat to the table. And it was chicken wings. Look, I like chicken wings as much as the next person, but to bring that to our table for our first meat option in a restaurant where they're charging 70 bucks a head is honestly insane. After that they started bringing by some other meats, but they were all lackluster cuts. The entire time we were there we never even got an option for any high quality red meats, it was all overcooked pork, rubbery lamb, and chicken wings.
I could go on about just how disappointing everything about this place was, but I believe I'm reaching my character limit. Save yourself the money and the heartache, and go...
