Our experience at Avant Hotel was nothing short of disappointing from the moment we arrived. The electronic key code on the front door was malfunctioning, leaving us stranded outside despite repeated attempts to enter. After contacting customer service, their suggestion to manipulate the door only worsened the situation, revealing that the device had a low battery, a concerning oversight for a keyless entry system.
Upon finally gaining access to our room, the issues persisted. The bathroom door handle promptly fell off, posing an inconvenience. With locking my husband in the bathroom and luckily I was there to open it from the outside. Then presence of tiny red ants throughout the bathroom counter- which we cleaned and wiped them off, most likely due to the rain. The adjacent sliding door behind the sink revealed what appeared to be mold, dismissed by hotel staff as 'water damage,' a dismissive explanation for an unacceptable condition.
Despite promptly notifying the hotel of these concerns within the first 30 minutes of our stay, the response was disheartening. They sent a technician later to assess the bathroom, confirming 'water damage' as a permissible condition for guest accommodations, an assertion we found unacceptable given the circumstances. No alternative accommodation was offered, nor was any gesture of goodwill extended. Refund requests were summarily denied, adding insult to injury.
To compound matters, their customer service approach was equally lackluster, with sporadic text messages to my husband and myself and an overall dismissive attitude towards our grievances. Faced with such poor conditions and inadequate response, we opted to check out a mere 40 minutes after arrival, documenting our experience with photographs for clarity.
In conclusion, our stay at Avant Hotel was marred by a litany of issues and a complete absence of customer care. We strongly advise potential guests to consider alternatives where their comfort and concerns are valued, as our experience here fell well short of...
Read moreAwesome boutique hotel. What you see is what you get. Room was very clean, spacious and designed with your basic needs for your stay.
I would say, they have everything that we need - small fridge, Keurig coffee maker, electric fan, hair dryer, iron with ironing board, and a full mirror for OOTDs! They even have an emergency first aid kit.
There was no lobby. They will provide you your door lock code hours before check-in. Check-in and check-out was very seamless. It would be helpful if you download their AvantStay app.
Parking was first come first serve basis, so don’t worry in case they ran out of parking space inside because there’s a plenty of outside parking space within premises. I hoped they had a designated parking space for each room.
Location was very accessible to Palm Springs downtown strip and nearby restaurants.
The only downside that we have encountered during our stay was the loud banging sound at our bedroom wall. Our room is located beside the pool area and there was this Saturday night when the pool was jam-packed with people and as they enter / exit the pool, the pool door creates this disturbing banging sound on our bedroom wall which lasted for couple of minutes.
So far, our stay was the one of the best experiences ever. We would definitely...
Read moreOverall we had a good time here. The unit itself has fast wifi, modern finishes, comfy bed, and it's close to the airport and main strip.
The water flow in the sink is a trickle. Not the end of the world, but unusual and mildly infuriating. The door to the bathroom has to be shoved in order to close because of poor build quality. The edge of the door as a result has tons of scuff marks. There was only 1 outdoor chair, while some other units had 2. Some common toiletries like lotion and a box of tissues were not there. Unexpected for a hotel this price. Only 1 small trash can, and it was in the bathroom. Most hotels have at least 2. The amenities are nice (pool+BBQ) but right next door to some units. Luckily we weren't in those units but I could imagine that being...
