FRADULENT CHARGES-Avoid this coffee shop! I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience here. I ordered a matcha latte for $7.55, but the next day, I received a notification that I was charged $37.55 instead. They didn’t just overcharge me—they changed the agreed-upon amount. Since then, I’ve tried calling the shop twice on separate days to resolve the issue, but I’ve only been told that the manager ā€œisn’t there.ā€ conveniently the manager is not there every time I call. I’ve already reported the fraudulent charge to my bank, though I was genuinely hoping to resolve this directly with the coffee shop.

On top of that, my initial experience wasn’t pleasant. When I placed my order, the cashier looked at me and started laughing for no apparent reason. Feeling confused, I politely asked if I’d said something funny, only to receive a dirty look and an offhand response: ā€œI thought of something funny.ā€ The entire interaction felt unprofessional and uncomfortable.

After this, I decided to look up reviews and saw that similar situations have happened to others. I should’ve trusted my instincts and avoided this place. Between the rude service and the dishonest charging practices, I cannot recommend this coffee shop to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to get your coffee.

In response to the below comment: Thank you for responding, but if this had been communicated to me in the first place, I wouldn't have thought I was being mischarged. Instead, I had to waste time calling my bank and trying to reach out to your shop over the course of two days, only to be told the manager was unavailable each time. This entire situation is unfair to your customers.

Even if the system switched the bill to another location, this is something that should be explained to customers upfront in case this mistake happens again. Additionally, your employee was extremely rude during my visit, which only added to the frustration. Situations like this discourage people from wanting to support...

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be an unpaid extra in a rom-com you didn’t sign up for, look no further than this coffee shop. It was 115° in Palm Springs, no AC, and I’m sweating like a latte in August. The wait? Long enough for me to start questioning life choices. While I stood there melting, my barista dream team (short hair + braids) was busy filming the next season of Flirt Fest with an off-the-clock coworker. My coffee? Apparently, it had been ā€œon the sideā€ for 10 minutes. Funny, since I’d been standing right in front of them, staring directly at their ā€œauditionā€ for The Bachelor: Coffee Shop Edition. When I dared to ask if my drink was ready, Short Hair hit me with the classic ā€œI called it out loudā€ excuse. Spoiler: she didn’t. Zero apology, zero effort — but full marks for attitude. I left irritated, accidentally forgetting my phone in my heatstroke haze. When I ran back for it, Short Hair laughed in my face while Braids refused to help because ā€œshe didn’t see anything.ā€ Customer service level? Elite villain origin story. I ended up running around the shop looking for the phone myself with no help at all while they stood there like judges. By the end, I half-expected Ashton Kutcher to jump out and tell me I was being Punk’d. Coffee was great. Service: Social experiment meets reality...

Can I give 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐? 🤩 The coffee ā˜• is great. Lots of milk and milk alternative options. Coffee, tea and šŸ‹ lavender lemonade.. yum... Try to come early because the fresh baked muffins, croissants, and scones are to die for. I cannot say enough good things about Ernest Coffee. The staff is very friendly and ordering is made easy. This is a very pet friendly place... honestly what's better than a place where everyone is welcome! 🌈 šŸ• šŸ’• There is a good amount of inside seating where you can choose from light and sunny or sit farther back in the room to have more of a phone/computer screen friendly less bright experience... There is one gender neutral bathroom which has always been clean on my many visits. Big plus is the out door fenced in covered patio with excellent views of the mountains. The patio has lots of sunny and shaded options. The cactus šŸŒµā˜€ļøšŸ˜Ž decor is lovely. I would say this is a don't miss especially if you crave a little night life because in the late afternoon they have a night club...

After our not so great matcha experience at Cartel Coffee we decided to try Ernest Coffee which several locals recommended. It turned out to be a great choice. I ordered a vanilla iced latte and my wife went with a vanilla matcha latte. Both drinks were exactly what we were hoping for. The matcha had a nice balance of milk and flavoring without any bitterness and my latte was smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Nothing over the top or wildly unique but both were well made and really satisfying. The shop itself is spacious and inviting with cool decor and plenty of seating for studying hanging out or even playing games. Service was a bit quiet and very quick with more of a straightforward next in line vibe but everyone got their drinks promptly and it did not affect the quality. Overall we were happy to finally find a spot in Palm Springs that serves a solid matcha and a reliable latte. Ernest Coffee is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a well made drink and we are glad we stopped in.

Amazing coffee. Quality drinks that are hand crafted! The care that this team takes to prepare drinks is next level!! Its a shame that we could not have the whole experience, but it was comforting to know they were taking precaution by rearranging the store to flow really well as the line gets pretty long! Allowing for space between waiting people is very thoughtful given our current worldwide situation. My aunt was the one who I went to Palm Springs with to get away. It was really nice to create some memories with her! The friendly girl making my drinks, Shannon, and the other young lady that took my aunts order worked together to make sure not only our drinks were properly made, but that the drinks came out in sync with the line of people waiting. They seem to have it down to a science! Such a fun time and I will be back again!

Ernest Coffee is a unique spots that truly capture the essence of our community and make newcomers feel right at home. During my recent visit, I indulged in their Ceremonial Matcha, and it was nothing short of exceptional, smooth, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The baristas were warm and attentive, making the experience all the more enjoyable. With ample indoor seating and a sun-kissed patio offering stunning mountain views, it’s the perfect spot to relax or catch up on some work. Housed in the historic space that once belonged to Don the Beachcomber’s tiki restaurant, the original tiki torches still stand tall, adding a touch of nostalgic charm to the modern, inviting atmosphere! They have French croissants too (just saying)
