It breaks my heart to write this review pertaining to what was billed as ‘Broadway in Drag” for Pride. What was that??? It wasn’t a Drag show by even what may be called Amateur Drag Queens. There were a couple of Drag performers mixed in with what can best be described as a disaster. I felt like I was in a middle school activity, only it wasn’t even that level. I personally felt uncomfortable and could see that others also felt very uncomfortable. Psychological safety??? Nope. We searched for an exit we could slink out of but to no avail- had to wait for intermission. I didn’t know if we should laugh or cry. Did they hold a last minute tryout the same day??? I’m all for supporting the LGBTQ Center and very happy to pay for a ticket that supports them, but I would have rather made a donation and saved myself (and others) the shock and dismay. Some of my elder colleagues in the audience were so shocked they had to look away during one such ‘performance’ (as did I). I’m not sure what happened or if the PCT thought this was funny, but it wasn’t. I’m not prude or rude- I sincerely thought I was buying a ticket to...

Very nice, intimate, classic theater. Lots of parking close by. Lots of really good restaurants close by. Nice, helpful staff. Comfortable seats. Very good selection of shows. We went to see Del Shores' (a Palm Springs native) newest play, This Side of Crazy, about a reunion of a controlling mother and her 3 daughters, 1 of which had fled and the other had been locked in a mental institution, while the eldest stayed home to take care of and tolerate her mother and comatose husband (who she still has loud carnal relations with!) It was not as funny as Sordid Lives, but, having grown up gay in the homophobic, bigoted, hypocritical South, lots of things I identified with very closely (and painfully). Excellent cast brought the play to life for me. Looking forward to my next event at this theater....
Read moreI have to admit the theater company has been doing amazing improvements since I went there the first time 6 years ago. In general, they play Broadway musicals lately with great local singers and actors. There are few things they still working on it; such the sound system and the A/C also dancing its definitely not one of the things to be proud of it. It's a cozy small theater about 220 seats, but it's really well run. The office manager/box office who is also an actor is one of the best assets the theater have. The customs used in their musicals are unexpected for this size of theater, however most of the times the custom designer continues to WOW me. I just wish he didn't have such...
