The French Connection is a brand new business, and based on my experience, it needs to be a short-lived one. I don’t care how new you are if you’re charging people money for food, it should at least be edible. What I got instead was one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted in my entire life.
Let’s talk about their so-called cheese empanada, a $7 piece of hot garbage. It was tiny, greasy, sad-looking, and I wish that were the worst of it. One bite in and I genuinely thought I was chewing melted plastic. Not even joking. The texture? Rubbery and artificial. The flavor? Nonexistent, except for the faint taste of chemical packaging. It was like someone wrapped nothing in sadness and microwaved it in a trash bag.
And for $7? You could buy a full meal literally anywhere else that doesn’t taste like it was scraped off the floor of a dollar store test kitchen. I’ve had airplane food that was Michelin-tier compared to this disaster.
The employees were actually great, respectful, helpful, clearly doing their best. But they’re being forced to serve food that tastes like it came out of a malfunctioning vending machine in hell. They deserve better than to be associated with this trainwreck.
If this is The French Connection’s idea of launching strong, then close the curtains now. Shut it down, pack it up, and try again, preferably with real food and some shred of self-respect. Because this? This is...

As we waited for the rain to pass, Karen was sweet enough to offer her new customer a drink -on the house. She whipped up a rose cappuccino for me, which was more warming than a cup of hot chocolate. This created the perfect cozy moment as passerby's took shelter inside, rain whipping the windows, and jazz playing in the background. The coffee itself was phenomenal but Karen knows how to craft and balance her drinks to take that coffee to the next level. As a former barista and foodie, I am impressed with her skill and customer service. The French Connection cafe is now a must-visit anytime I come...
