Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Palmhurst

We were greeted at the front door by friendly host. Seated immediately. Our waiter arrived and I asked for hot tea, he said you want tea without ice. I said a hot tea. He was confused, so I said just bring me coffee. Then I saw on menu where hot coffee and hot tea were listed so I pointed that out to him. He said oh, I don’t know how to make that, I’ll have to ask. It was 1/2 price appetizers, so we ordered bone in chicken wings & spinach artichoke dip. When order was brought to us, the chicken wings were overdone, the chips served with the spinach artichoke dip was a half a plate full of crumb chips. I had to ask for plates. Had to ask for our blue cheese dipping sauce that I ordered. We told the waiter of the disappointing food, he said he was sorry & nothing more was done. I had to ask for our bill. When we got it, I said the wings are not marked at half price. Waiter said bone in wings are not half price just the boneless. Now before we ordered I asked him if appetizers were half price and he said yes. He said nothing about bone in not being 1/2 off when I asked about 1/2 price appetizers. the service here has become so bad my friend group jokes about it but its gotten so bad and so consistently bad we end up driving 20+ minutes to applebees on 10th if we want decent service. i wont talk about all the stories of bad waiters, messed up orders, or the horribly long waits for service for my friends and i. this time its about my family, we only saw our waiter maybe 5 times during our 2 hours there. once when she took our drinks, second when she brought our drinks and took our food order, third was when she brought our food and our only drink refill (not by choice), 4th time was when we asked for the manager because our food was made incorrectly and the last was for the check. we all decided to just grab waters from our car because we never really got much drink. the food here is almost always incorrect (take out and dine in) this time the burger patties were overcooked and shriveled to a size half of that of the bun, but by the time our waitress came back to tell her everyone else was pretty much done eating after waiting close to an hour and a half for our food (the restaurant was maybe 50% full, if anything). they at least took of that burger off our receipt but service...

I just had the worst experience with Applebee's in my entire life. Applebee's in Palmhurst Texas. First the waitress comes to ask for our order but cuts my wife off midway through her order to ask me a question then starts to ask my wife all over again what she wants like they never talked before. Little did we know the whole shift was sitting next to us including the cook, eating and when he was done he went back to start cooking our meals. We actually had to walk up and ask the bartender to make our drinks. The food order took around an hour to make. The food actually came out in a bag on the plate! and to finish off, we paid and were leaving we were stopped at the door from the waitress saying she charged us the wrong amount. I asked what she wanted to do and she stormed off and then the manager came out and explained the situation. So, he refunded the amount we already paid and then went and charged us again. There was nothing that would invite us back. I'm military and have served over 22 years and have ate at Applebee's all over the country and never had such poor service as this.
