Situated in Stanford Shopping Center, prices are definitely high. The seats are high (I am 5'10'') inside the restaurant so it would be uncomfortable to sit for a long time.
The atmosphere inside was also not very welcoming, with staff being not very attentive, although not necessarily rude. For example, there was a station where customers can pour their own cup of water, but even when it was out, no one seems care enough to refill it, even though they were not helping any customers.
Food was very fresh, but serving quality can definitely use some improvement. For example, one bowl was only half full, but the other two were near the top of the bowl. It would have been helpful for staff to pay more attention to what is missing or needed in the restaurant, and be more consistent in measuring out the portions in the bowls.
Granted, it was not measured by weight but by volume, but a bowl that was literally half full was very apparent from one that is nearly full. I did not wish to complain to the staff as I do not frequent the place often but it was something I have never witnessed in my life: a stark contrast of a literally half-full bowl to a nearly-full bowl is just not something one can easily forget.
If the staff can be more attentive (and perhaps more welcoming) and be more consistent in measuring out the portions, the higher prices are...
Read moreI am a huge fan of poke and I was pretty excited to try this place out. But unfortunately my experience at this place was absolutely horrible. I remember trying to see what toppings I would get and I might have leaned a little on the glass and the employee who was fixing my poke bowl was so rude. He said not to lean and I asked why but he didn’t give me a straight answer and I thought that was weird. Then the cashier who helped me wasn’t nice at all. I asked if they had unagi sauce and he said only with the unagi bowl. I could’ve paid extra for the sauce but apparently I had to get the unagi bowl for that. I will never come back here again. I’ve worked as a good server and in retail and the first thing I ALWAYS pay attention to is the customer service. The employees here suck and they need to learn proper manners, customer service, and improve on their communication skills. Also if leaning on the glass is such a big problem then this place should...
Read morelove this place for poke! It’s definitely pricier than the nearby Poke House in Town & Country and has smaller portions but I like the premade mixes they have. I usually get the premixed sesame gomae shrimp, the veggie mix, and the seared shouyu salmon. Since the mixes are already flavored you don’t need to even add sauce and it tastes delicious. I also recently discovered you can request all salad and no rice as the base so combined with the poke you can have a really savory salad! Anyways this place is great if you want a light and relatively healthy yet still tasty meal.
The service is pretty fast when I go (albeit I usually go just before they close so they’re never busy then).
The inside of the restaurant is modern but warm. I also like how they have inside and outside seating so you can sit outside...
