This isview for my experience ordering on-line and having it delivered to this store for pick-up. 4 stars for friendliness of the staff on-line and in the store. Minus a star for a glitch within a step in their system and customer service. I recieved an email after I placed my order on-line stating that it would be delivered within 6 days. It had been six days, so I called customer service. They said that it had been delivered two days prior at the store and to call the store to inquire about the status of my order. I had not been contacted by the store yet. I called the store but they couldn't find it after being placed on hold for quite some time. They asked for my name and number to call me back because the people working in that department were on lunch. They did eventually find it and left a voicemail to let me know it was ready to be picked up and an email was sent as well. I went to the store to pick up the order and it took a long time for them to find it. This review is just to check in with Anthropologie and let them know that they can tighten up a little bit more with the level of customer service. This part is regarding the on-line process: The order were knobs for a dresser. On-line, the picture showed round, clear knobs but when I opened the bag at the store they were square shaped. At this point I was ok with the glitch, let it go and accepted the change. I would have preferred the round shape and know I could have spoken up so they could have corrected it but they were on sale for a really good price and I realized this and still just wanted to point it out. I didn't want to go through the hassle with the...
Read moreI will never buy another piece of furniture from Anthropologie.
Simple story: ordered a dining table that cost four digits in late November. Was promised it would deliver by Christmas. It did not happen. Got rescheduled four times, and every time the delivery got canceled ON THE SAME DAY.
I called Anthropologie after the third cancellation. The “supervisor” on the phone said they will take my case seriously and escalate to their logistics partner. The promise turns out to be an empty promise.
What happened to this logistics partner the handles Anthropologie’s delivery? I’ll call the name out. It’s a company called Ryder Last Mile, who used to be called MXD Group. Go anywhere to look up the reviews of this logistics company you will read similarly ridiculous stories like mine.
Unlike many reviewers who blame Ryder Last Mile, I blame Anthropologie for selecting a terrible logistics company.
Anthropologie’s logistics management: I’ve lost all my patience after your chosen logistics company canceled on me for four times. Everybody understand Covid/Omicron is causing staffing issues, but the more cancellation I get, the longer I have to wait, and the more suspicion I have about whether Covid is just an excuse.
Anthropologie: you have great designs, but a great design a customer can’t get worths nothing. Don’t try to hide behind Ryder Last Mile / MXD Group because I’ll call you out. It is your responsibility to right the wrong for all your customers.
But for me, enough is enough. I’ll go buy furnitures at Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and all other competitors of yours who you consider as peers. I’m not going to buy a single piece of furniture from...
Read moreI felt un-welcomed on my most recent visit because I was treated like a thief. As a past employee of Urban Outfitters, Inc. (parent company of Anthropologie), I was trained in loss prevention and know the strategies used by their employees. At first, I felt like they were trying to take care of me by asking me if I was finding everything okay. But then when the same lady came around to specifically check on just me, I knew that I was being targeted as a thief. She didn't check in with anyone else around me and quickly reported back to her colleague over the ear piece/mic. It was not a good feeling, and I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Despite feeling singled out, I still got in line and purchased the items I was carrying in my hands.
My rating includes two stars instead of one because Anthropologie carries beautiful items. My mom loves Anthropologie so I go there every year to purchase her Christmas gift. I used to go to the location in Burlingame (just two blocks from my home), but sadly it closed. I'm happy with the items I purchased but not the way I felt while I shopped. I felt alienated and monitored, and as a past employee of their parent company, I expected better.
Based on this very unpleasant experience, I will most likely never shop at at Anthropologie Stanford Shopping Center again. Especially if this is how I'll be treated...
