We keep going back for the food and $1.99 Margaritas on Wednesday's, plus we play our favorite keno tickets several times while eating, however their service is POOR! Rarely the same servers, as they have a HUGE turnover with employees. Most of them are not knowledgable and have not been properly trained. Others are just "stupid" or unfriendly. I'm guessing part of this is due to being understaffed. The servers that are there have way too much to do. They are running around trying to keep up, while some of us wait 20 minutes +, just to have them take our order. If you're in a hurry, please choose another place to go. Drinks are sporadic (if you can find a server to bring them to you) If you order any of their specials, they will NOT allowed you to take the rest home in a doggie bag. My family took me there for my birthday. We had drinks, food, played keno, and one of my sons bought me $50 in gift certificates to come back. After all of that and they refused to let me take home the 2 extra tacos that were left. I don't know of any of the other restaurants that won't let you take food home that you purchased, unless it's a buffet or all you can eat! We paid for the tacos, they just didn't want us to eat them anywhere but there. If we had not spent so much money on everything else, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. Last trip was what really topped it off and should earn them a One Star rating on here. They had sent my husband and I (each) an invitation to a party that they were having to celebrate their anniversary. It was on Friday, the 6th, of April. There was suppose to be free food and drinks for us and we could take one guest each. We planned this day and worked around other plans to make sure we would be able to go. We invited some friends from Kansas to go with us and we were all looking forward to it. Luckily, our friends were tied up and couldn't make the 4 hour trip (at the last minute) because when we got to Jerze's, there was NO PARTY! I ask the server about it and she gave me a weird look and told me that the invitation was for "Last years" party! REALLY? Because it just got to my house a few days ago. They offered nothing for their mistake, acted like it was "US" that did something wrong, and said that there would be a party on Tuesday. My son had come along with us and managed to have more self control than most would have after dealing with that experience. He calmly said "Let's go mom"..... He wanted to leave before he made a scene. It seems like there is a problem 75% of the time that we go there. So why do we go back??? It's like family.... Your old spinster aunt cooks the greatest meals, but you keep going back and putting up with her nasty, rude and unpleasant attitude because in the end, you'll be missing out on a great meal. But at some point, I'm guessing we may stop going. That last BS about the party that wasn't really a party, really didn't sit well...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for lunch to try Jerzees. We have only been there this once may try it again after a while to see if this was just a bad day. Atmosphere is ok. It's your typical keno bar/lounge where decor and tables/chairs are concerned. It happened to be freezing in there which is odd for me since I love the cold weather. The food was substandard and does not live up to the reviews others have given it. Took us about 30 minutes to get our food out and we were one of two tables in the joint.
My wife had the BBQ Chicken sandwich and I had the NY Strip special. The chicken had the texture of precooked chicken that has been soaked for a while… don’t know how else to describe it. BBQ Sauce was thin and did not have an appealing flavor. Jack cheese was the thin stuff that is mostly oil and was not melted on the chicken but rather just sitting there limply on top. The NY Strip was real tough and laying in a puddle of its own juices when it came out. The fat seam was extraordinarily rugged and had that awful “old” taste to it. Not aged but old or freezer burned. Table next to us had a guy who ordered the same thing just before us. He sent his back, I was hungry so I just ate mine, the next one came out and was the same way. I noticed he really did not come close to finishing his steak.
Waitress came to check on us and asked how things were. My wife politely indicated her food was awful. The waitress, think she is new, was not sure what to do at that point. Said sorry took her plate and asked if she wanted more to drink. The other waitress, there were two of them again think one was new and being trained, brought the bill to us and said she would be our cashier. I looked at the bill and noticed that it was the full $23 or so dollars. So when she came back for the payment I indicated the issues we had with the food adding that I had no problem paying full price for my meal as I ate it. Well except the 10-15% which was the awful fat part. I then said as you probably saw she sent at least half of her chicken back can you do something about the price.
There was a gathering of wait staff and someone who I guess was a manager type. The manager type came over and asked about the meal. I reviewed the issues again indicating I had no issue paying for the steak as I ate it. He said he would take the chicken sandwich off the ticket. He also said he sold 30 steaks today and it’s only been the last three or so that have had any issues. He assured us that they don’t steam their chicken etc etc etc. Anyway they took the chicken off.
I tipped 15% based on the original bill even though I had to lead them through the process of dealing with bad food. Dang... wanted it to be a go...

Disappointed to see 1 person, assuming he was the host, not attentive to people waiting to be seated. Wearing a wet table rag on his shoulder all throughout our dinner. Totally gross to see 2 wet shoulders. There were empty, but dirty tables that weren't being cleaned to seat customers. Said host was the only person seen cleaning tables with no urgency what so ever. Again, keeping that wet table rag over his shoulder, Again- GROSS! Said host was also handeling tickets for waitresses. Why? Are they not trained? After being seated it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come with menus, and the excuse that there wasn't enough menus for the 3 people at our table. We ordered drinks right away, which took 15 minutes to get. Excuse from the waitress that the bartender was backed up, all the while there were 2 men behind the bar and noticeably 1 was more interested in talking to customers than helping out his fellow bartender. After finally ordering (715pm), several other action/poor management skills were witnessed. Why does a food runner bring salads to a table without dressing, saying your waitress will be back with your dressing? Very inefficient! Same food running continued to deliver salads to other tables without dressing and waitresses follow a few minutes later. During our 90 minutes there, only witnessed 1 food runner. Seen very few waitresses delivering food- and they are expecting tips? For just taking my drink & food order? A table next to us received their beers. When another table ordered their food before they did, the man was visibly mad. Got up to speak to the host, again with the wet table rag on his shoulder. Not sure what was said, but host was less than helpful, shrugged his shoulders and the man, with his family stormed out. -Our dinners arrived 25 minutes after ordering- way too long to wait.
