This 1-star rating seems very unfair to my server and the overall experience - this is only about hostess. My server was friendly, welcoming, and caring - what more could you ask for? I had a lovely evening, had about 6 margaritas, and was even considering staying all night because it was so enjoyable.
However, there are situations beyond my control. I found myself in an urgent restroom situation, essentially an emergency. Trying not to show my discomfort, I informed the host that I needed to step outside to meet a friend and would be back in 10 minutes. Regrettably, the host mentioned they couldn’t hold my table. I inquired about my most recent order, but it seemed that 10 minutes was deemed too long – at least by her standards and company policy.
Fortunately, my waitress intervened, assuring the hostess that I could be trusted with a 10-minute absence from my table. To provide reassurance, I even left my credit card, demonstrating my commitment to returning within my timeframe. Despite my efforts to ensure a swift return, the situation escalated. The hostess confronted me at my table while I was trying to savor my last drink. She asked why I didn’t like her establishment, to which I questioned her authority. She insisted that I was violating her policies and warned of consequences if I continued to defend myself.
All this in front of other obviously more respected guesses than myself.
Being an immigrant, I am aware that my facial features might be perceived as unpleasant or irritating, yet I diligently work to earn a living and tip generously to counteract any potential bias. I regret that I couldn’t assuage the hostess’s concerns in this instance. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to do...
Read moreHad such an awful experience at the Baccarat Bar & Lounge. Came here on a Wednesday late evening around 11pm and initially was drawn to the lounge type seating. As we were seated we were given our server’s name and were told she would be with us shortly however it took almost 20 min for our server to even show face. For an establishment that is supposed to be very prestigious and provide the highest service, I was expecting at least a greeting within the first 5 minutes. All of the tables were full and seemed like there were 2 servers but on observation it seemed like everyone else was being attended to more promptly and frequently than my fiancée and I. I would also like to add that we were the only Asian couple there and although we look young we are both in our thirties or nearing thirty, which the hostess knew since she asked for ID, and we did not appreciate the service we were receiving (or lack thereof). After we finally ordered, I appreciated how prompt our drinks were but again we saw people coming and getting their drinks and check before our server, Alexandra, even bothered to check on us and ask us if we would like anything else to drink, even water. I was highly disappointed in how we were treated- actually neglected- and would not recommend this spot at all. Plan your spots for where you want to get late night drinks after a long day of traveling/walking and definitely don’t include this bar...
Read moreI’ve been here in the past and had good experiences, but I’ll never be back after this visit. I got a booth with a party of six. Upon looking at the drink menu on the table, a few of us remarked that the prices seemed pretty reasonable by Vegas standards. So, we ordered a few bourbons and other drinks, which were brought out promptly.
Eventually the server dropped off the bill, which was higher than expected. After closer inspection we noticed that the 17 and 18 dollar bourbons were actually 21 and 22 a piece. We inquired about why the prices don’t match the menu and were told abruptly that “neat pours are four dollars extra.” At no point was this indicated anywhere on the menu or mentioned by the server.
Apparently at Baccarat there are now hidden fees if you want a 1oz pour of alcohol without ice, as opposed to a 1oz pour with ice added.
We asked to speak to the manager, who came over and confirmed this policy. When we asked why these prices don’t match the menu, he said “we can charge whatever we want for drinks.” We asked why the server didn’t just say “there’s an upcharge for neat drinks, is that OK?” He had no answer. After debating for a few minutes he eventually relented and removed the hidden fees.
This feels like a deliberate bait and switch tactic intended to encourage customers to buy more drinks than they would if they knew the real prices. Check your bill carefully if...
