My wife and I made reservations to sit on the outside patio and was told that it was the best view of the restaurant. This reservation was made due to the restaurant advising that reservations had to be made to eat at this restaurant. We reminded the restaurant that we were choosing their establishment to spend our fifth year anniversary. When we arrived at the restaurant for our reservation time of 11:15 A.M., one of the hosts advised that they did not have us down for a reservation for the outside, further, looking at the reservation log showed that we did have a reservation for 11:15 A.M., but it was not for outside. the manager was called when the manager arrived she looked at my wife and I as we were less fortunate people who lived on the street. We were dressed per the dress code, I was dressed in a suit and my wife was dressed in a beautiful summer dress. We received many compliments from other guests and staff. As I started explaining to the manager that we had made reservations for seating on the patio to enjoy the water show as we ate, she looked at us with a look of disgust and continue to shake her head in a no motion as I was speaking. We advised her, ma’am we did make reservations with the guest service personnel. They advised that we would be sitting outside on the patio in front of the water show due to celebrating our fifth year anniversary, choosing the Bellagio and eating at their restaurant Lago. She responded in a very rude manner and stated the outside patio is for paying customers and they are the only people that we sit out on the patio and it’s a first come first serve you’re gonna have to wait to sit outside. It was very confusing and unclear what she stated, because nothing is free and we weren’t asking for any handouts. My wife and I waited another hour and returned back to the restaurant at 12:15 P.M. The only reason why we returned back to the restaurant was not due to the manager, but was due to the other staff that surrounds her. They were all very professional, concerned and apologetic for the breakdown in communication between guest services of the Bellagio hotel, and reservations being made through them for the Lago restaurant. I advised to the front host staff at the Lago restaurant, that they really truly displayed exceptional customer service and communication skills. They all gave my wife and I the name of how they thought that the managers name was spelled and said that it was very rude and unprofessional the way she treated us in front of them. We were then taken to the outside patio and sat in a corner where we could barley see the water show as there were other tables available to see the The manager Ajla Lucevic made our visit to the Lago at Bellagio a very horrible and eventful experience that we will never forget. In our opinion she needs to be retrained and sent to another management class to treat future guest better and to better handle and speak on situations that only managers have the authority to. I spent most of my time making notes to ensure that they made it into this review and complaint. My wife and I would be more than eager to share our concerns with executive staff if needed to make a change in the actions of Ms....
Read moreWe came here as a party of four girls. Since we’d already had breakfast, we weren’t too hungry, so we ordered four drinks, one appetizer, and an entrée. At the time of taking the order, the waiter asked “are you sure” — which already felt off, but there was never any mention of a minimum spending requirement. If there was one, we would have absolutely ordered more.
One of my friends asked what a mimosa was, and the waiter responded with “you’ve never had a mimosa in your life?” in a sarcastic tone. Very unprofessional.
When the food came, the appetizer and pasta arrived together. We ordered the Seafood Pasta, which we had even seen pictured in a Google review beforehand. What we received was lobster pasta. When we asked, the waiter insisted “this IS the seafood pasta.” When we showed him the menu, he said “oh that’s seafood linguine, seafood pasta is the lobster pasta.” Completely confusing, especially because neither “seafood pasta” nor “lobster pasta” is actually on the menu. On top of that, lobster was at market price, something we were never informed of. It felt like he was trying to push us into a pricier dish just to increase his tip.
He did ask if we wanted to swap, but then added that we would “have to wait 40 mins.” At that point, we just accepted the lobster pasta instead. When I checked the menu to look at the ingredients to check for any allergies. That’s when I checked the menu again and realized the dish didn’t even exist there.
When I raised this with the manager, he immediately said he would “fix it” and agreed to remove the pasta. But when the waiter came back, instead of simply correcting the issue, he said: “I heard you talk to the manager. I asked if u wanted to change u said no but whatever sure it’s done we will swap it.” This was incredibly rude.
Later, he brought a dessert menu, mumbling something where the only words I could make out were “on the house” and “we took care of the lobster pasta.” When we tried to clarify if dessert was on the house, his response was: “just say yes or no.” Again — speechless at this point.
Finally, when the bill came, we were STILL charged for the lobster pasta! We asked why, and he said he had to “talk to the manager about that.” Eventually, the manager removed two pasta orders from the bill, but the whole experience was shady, disrespectful, and exhausting.
We were more than willing to pay for what we actually ordered. But the way we were treated — from the sarcastic tone, the misleading menu explanations, being pushed into a higher-priced item, being told to wait 40 minutes to correct their mistake, and then still being billed for it — left us wanting nothing but to get out.
If you decide to dine here, be extremely careful of what you order and...
Read moreThis was definitely a mixed experience. We stopped here as we were looking for something that had a table and was a little less upscale at the Bellagio. We were seated quickly, but got a high top in the bar area, which in retrospect may have been a mistake. We were exposed to the noise of the bar crowd, and also people coming by and essentially being next to our table as they were walking through the casino. Water was served promptly however it took some time for our waitperson to visit.
I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants, but I don’t think I ever saw one that did not serve bread. Something to munch on while you’re hungry and waiting for your food. An accompaniment to salad or whatever you’re eating; in this case I think the only way to get bread was to order the focaccia on the menu for $11. There was no way, even in Vegas, where you have to become immune to any of the numbers on the menu in order to stay sane.
We split a Caesar salad and even though the menu said it came with anchovies the wait person explained that it doesn’t, they are in the dressing. The salad was good. It was not a typical Caesar as it had broccolini in it, finally chopped and no croutons. I think this place has something against baked carbohydrates.
Our salad plates were not removed companion put hers on the edge of the table and even that took some time. I finally had to do the same with mine because no one was clearing it.
The food took a very long time. We were repeatedly told it would be coming, but it took my waving down a bus boy and asking if they could check on it. It finally came and it was good. The shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp along with a spicy cocktail sauce and a sauce that is as yet unidentified. It was white and I am not even sure what was in it. I had the tagliatelle with shrimp and it was really good. The shrimp were small and I believe they were cut pieces of larger shrimp. The shrimp was abundant. The pasta was cooked well and there was a heavy butter or oily sauce even though I asked for it to be light, but perhaps they could not do it. there were capers in it and freshly grated cheese was provided.
I feel badly emphasizing the bread thing, but 11 bucks is not reasonable when you could put out a couple of slices of Italian bread. The service was also not great both in the speed and attentiveness. We barely had anyone...
