We went here while staying at the MGM grand despite the high price point and were greeted with the worst service imaginable. Our waiter started by not greeting us, instead starting by telling us a few things on the menu that were misprinted, including the dish I had seen on the online menu and come to get, the spaghetti. Somehow on both the online and in print menu they did not list marinara or tomato's as part of the dish, just olive oil, so I thought it would be an olive oil sauce dish, but that was not the case (though our waiter said everyone who comes in thinks the same and wants it as such, so not sure why they don't either reprint the menus or change the dish). I was not given any alternatives so I had to ask if there was an olive oil sauce dish and he said yes, but it had sausage in it, which I was told could not be substituted. So eventually I just ordered the pesto, which I was told didn't have nuts in it but was still called pesto, but that I could add a meat to it, even though you can't change anything else about a dish. The pesto was fine but the chicken I added was very subpar, with the only redeeming factor of the meal being that my boyfriends pinwheel lasagna was very tasty. But after a very combative start with our waiter, he then became impossible to get ahold of. He was covering about 5 tables it looked like and he seemed to ignore us and the table next to us after we got our food, leaving us and the table next to us (who had finished before us and even asked another waiter to get our waiter for them to no avail) 15 minutes after we had finished eating before finally coming to our table to give us the check (which he told us we couldn't split but then brought us two checks and checked us out separately anyway, so really felt like he just wanted to fight us on every little thing at this point). As he gave us the check he refused to leave our table til we finished and so told the table next to ours he would come to them next, only to leave as soon as we finished checking out, so when we left we asked the table next to ours and he still had not come to visit them. I don't know how anyone can recommend this restaurant given the...
Read moreWhat a unique experience. 50 minutes into our time there, having only ordered 1 coke and 2 entrees, our waiter came to our table and blamed the computer for what was obviously him forgetting to put in the order. I suspect this because he told the same thing to the table behind us and a lot of orders were coming out around us.
Also, in those 50 minutes we saw our waiter 3 times. Once to greet us, once to bring the coke, and once to tell us our orders were missing. We also had to tell him our order again.
Maybe if anyone at all walked by, the long wait could have been acknowledged or even avoided.
Next, he says “because of this it’s going to be one of your birthdays at the end of the meal”
The table next to us gets a birthday dessert and our waiter comes between our tables and says “see, watch them do it” as if we have to pretend to have a birthday to make up for making us wait an hour and 10 minutes for our food?
What am I, six years old? I’m not pretending to have a birthday so you can feel better about neglecting our table.
After waiting that long our appetites really weren’t the same so we finished up and put our plates to the side. Again nobody bothered to check in with us for about 10 minutes while we sat there until someone took our plates, and then another 5 before our waiter noticed us with an empty table.
He asks if we are ready for the dessert and at the moment we were appreciative but also not in a dessert mood and just ready to go after 90 minutes, so we ask if we can just have a couple waters instead and he brings them to the table.
Maybe I’m just naive in thinking the dessert was a nice gesture and we could instead get a few waters to make up for the poor experience but we really didn’t expect to be charged for them.
We weren’t interested in fighting out a check but wow, we were really looking to nice dinner dates during our vacation and this was one of the most perplexing...
Read moreI'm staying at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I flew out for my Great Niece's Wedding on December 4th. I'm here 2 days earlier before the family arrives. The last day of Usher's residency at Park MGM. I attempted to get a ticket 🎟 hmmm, I'm too late plus the wait to try to get in is now way afer 9pm. 😢 I dash back to my hotel but not really dash because there were so many highlights on the strip to see and take photos of. After all that intrigued me. Oh, did I mention that this is my first time in Las Vegas. Yes so I'm mesmerized. Anyways, I finally trotted back to MGM Grand and I notice this Luchini's Italian Restaurant and of course they serve pizza by the slice on the carry out side. Well, let me say my slice of regular cheese with fresh basil, was the best pizza ever! The greasiness of the olive oil with the mild salty goodness of the cheese and sauce and let's not forget the dough with some scorching but doesn't taste burnt. I ate evey single bite after sopping the top crust up with all the oil left on the Luchini's signature wrapping paper. I washed it down with a cold and quenching bottle of Michelob Ultra. Man, I can't wait until tomorrow to purchase a whole pizza pie. Luchini Pizza is Heavenly Sent! Don't sleep on this while you're here in Vegas! They have other types that a few customers ahead of me ordered something called Vodka pizza. 🤷♀️ but my classic cheese, sure put a smile 😃 on my face and in my tummy. I went to sleep dreaming about tomorrow's pizza. I know when the family arrives tomorrow/today they'll insist I eat some place else because they've been to Vegas multiple times. But I'm sticking with Luchini's This made up for missing Usher 😆 🤣 😂. I am now in my...
