Miller's Ale House — Restaurant in Paramus

03/07/2025 just 2 years after my last visit and the $10 classic cheeseburger is gone from the menu and replaced with a $18 cheeseburger special. So a nearly double in price for the same amount of beef and same fries. Not worth it! Bring back the $10 burger! Otherwise McDonald's and Burger King are better options for the money.

Very good burgers and fries! Came here for the first time on 11/7/2022. It was not too busy. Just 2 other customers in main dinning room and 2 tables in the outer room. I saw 3 waitresses in my area and 1 manager greeting customers at the door.

Decorations were sparse and the focus was mostly on all the TV's surrounding every wall to show as many games as possible. They still have plastic COVID Era blockades making the table seating a bit more private and secluded and they look nicely designed, however they are no longer needed and they block the view of all the TV's around you. So I guess if you are wanting a slightly more private/intimate setting, then these plastic barriers with transparent distortion are great. But if you are here to watch a game, then a seat at the bar or any table without these barriers is best.

Here are my thoughts... The food was delicious.

The $10 burger is so close to being as good as Red Robins. Even has nice cross grill marks, tasty bun, perfectly cooked and juicy inside. I call it good enough 😃 But now in 2025 they got rid of the $10 burger and only have an $18 burger.

The French fries are also tasty and seasoned well, but not quite as good as Red Robin’s steak fries 🍟, and no free refill on the fries here.

The non alcoholic drink selection here is perfect. All Coke products 🥤 and a nice raspberry iced tea. The straws however are paper straws. Which means they taste disgusting, created with toxic chemicals and bleach. So just bring your own plastic straws if you eat here or just don't use a straw.

Pros: Delicious burgers almost as good as Red Robin!!! Yummy fries, just a notch lower than Red Robin. Great location Plenty of parking Free parking Friendly employees Great food selection Perfect drink selection Plenty of tables to eat at 2 full bars Lots of TV's to watch games

Cons: Disgusting paper straws Overpriced non-alc drinks, should be $2 not $4. Overpriced burgers in 2025 at $18 which used to be $10 in 2022.

Suggestion to owner: Lower the price of non-alc drinks to $2 instead of $4 and lower the price of burgers back to $10 or offer a smaller $10 burger.

Give us plastic straws. Plastic straws are cheaper priced and much more durable and better tasting than...

Had great time at bar with girl friend(friend who is a girl lol). Friendly staff And understanding.😁💗Came to just sit and have a few drinks n chat. Of course though, I’m naturally clumsy and after two drinks 🍷 I am extra clumsy lol🤭🫣Dropped my whole drink all over the floor while getting up by accident :( .I don’t drink much but even sober I guarantee this would’ve happened, lol but I tried to clean up my mess and our bartender saw what happened and was so nice and told me not to worry about it! So sweet🥹🥲 and definitely made me feel much better because I work in customer service too n understand how exhausting, rude, and then on top cheap, some people can be! Ugh it’s the worst! And they’re usually the most entitled🙄 go figure! lol but great experience over all, super casual atmosphere, friendly staff,good food! The only downside for us; and was entirely out of their control and unassociated to the business. A guy came up to my friend while I was in the bathroom n he obviously thought she was alone. (First 🚩 honestly, bc she was the only single female at the bar, and really the whole place , at least for the brief moment I was in the rest room). But when I came back up she seemed fine laughing and talking to him, and when I spoked to him he was ok n kinda friendly…but got super weird/ a bit agitated when I made a joke about him sitting with her 😄😁😅😅(2nd 🚩).! Then as time went on he was clearly super drunk and not making sense. Even the bartender asked if he was okay bc he was getting loud and rowdy. Soon after that though we left, because he was not leaving , at least us, ANYTIME SOON ugh😒🤦🏻‍♀️😩 but we definitely would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the drunk creep imposing on our girl time ;and it’s not like we’re not both single n open to taking to guys at the bar and ironically enough despite all his personality defects he was actually pretty attractive and only lasted as long as he did bc of that 😂 but at a certain point it was very clear he was a creep n beyond off his rocker and me n her both felt the same ! 😂 lol , and the staff there were definitely keeping an eye on him and especially us girls! Because they even pulled us to the side away from him n asked us how we were . But like I said , completely out of their control, and they handled it great👍🏼felt safe, respected , and fast service, lol also☝🏼they have two full bars! Inside and a semi outside space with louder music and a more club like atmosphere. Love it ! Will definitely be back again...

Let me preface this by saying that I don't take writing reviews lightly. This place is incredibly amazing. I came here by coincidence on a visit from out of state. It was heads dinner or tails Miller's Ale House. We unanimously decided on Miller's Ale House (glad we did), and will always come back just for the wonderful experience we had here. We came here on the worst day of our lives after mourning the loss of a loved one.

Coming here we were treated with love and kindness from the hello as we entered to our goodbye when we left. This is easily the the best dining experience I have ever had at a restaurant, bar none. Ilsa was so considerate and her staff were very accommodating. They are a shining light of what it means to be in the food service industry. Thank you so much for everything. My server Daniela was delightful and attentive, and her smile could cheer you right up. The food here is top notch and on a scale, it would be excellent, served to perfection. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and from the look of others I could tell there were plenty of happy customers. I had the Big Red (sandwich) and everyone else had the Teriyaki Steak Potstickers and Zingers Mac & cheese. For drinks we had Titos Strawberry Lemonade, Blue Moon, and Angry Orchard. Everyone in my party left empty plates and glasses.

The atmosphere is perfect. The price was great, and to be honest, I would have been happy to spend more because there is no comparison to the overall value. The restaurant is clean, and there was good lighting, good seating and plenty of room so you don't feel squished. There were plenty of T.V.'s on the wall in case you wanted to catch the latest games. You don't have to try to hear yourself speak and despite how busy it is you can actually have a conversation. You don't feel rushed. The staff are friendly and caring who genuinely love what they do.

If you are ever in Paramus, I highly recommend coming here, and even if you aren't close, it is worth the drive. If we came on our worst day and enjoyed it, I can only imagine how much better it is on your best day to come here with friends, family and loved ones. You will be happy...
