What an incredible dinner! It's not extremely often a restaurant pulls off an absolute perfect dinner for me and my family. Olive Pit absolutely exceeded my expectations! We dined in on a Saturday evening for dinner. Our party of 4 was seated immediately at a nice quiet corner table. Drink orders were served quickly along with some amazing fresh bread. The kind you slice or brake, share with family or friends, and dip into olive oil and mixed herbs. It was outstanding!
The entrees ordered were chicken parm, fettuccine alfredo, Jason's Spicy Alfredo Penne, and the star of the show was the Spicy chicken cheese tortellini. This dish was probably the best Italian dish I've ever tried. Both spicy dishes have some heat, but just enough to compliment the flavor. Each dish we ordered came with your choice of soup or salad. Portions are generous and worth every penny.
Our server was outstanding as well. She came by to check on us often and took great care of us. The restaurant wasn't very busy, not loud like other places, and no one rushed us out. We were able to take our time and have a great conversation over dinner.
If you're traveling through the area or a local resident looking for a great restaurant for a nice dinner or a special occasion, you definitely need to dine here. Now if I can only get that recipe for the spicy mozzarella...
Read moreWe stopped in late afternoon and well before the supper crowd. We were immediately seated and drink orders taken. High chair was clean and the buckle worked properly.
We were served the customary bread when our drinks were brought out. The portion served is rather small, but they are quick to bring out more.
Fried mozzarella ravioli appetizer MAY have been frozen, but was cooked well and tasted good. Served with the common sauce.
Salads were fresh. I was the guy that gets ranch dressing when it doesn’t match the rest of the meal, but it was good ranch dressing. Onions on the salad were crisp!
I ordered the muscle linguini with cream sauce and it was fantastic. The sauce was the right mixture of buttery and creamy. The muscle portion was very generous. The muscles themselves were tender and perfectly salted.
My wife and daughter got jambalaya spaghetti and tomato spaghetti respectively. Both said each was good, as well as the soup of the day. The baby got chicken fries and a cookie. Guess which she finished. Large portion of chicken fries.
This place is trying really hard to be a really good Italian restaurant in an area you wouldn’t expect one- and it is working. Glad we stopped in...
Read moreMy husband and I have eaten here several times over the past four years. We stopped in for dinner Thursday, July 21 2016 and were surprised by the worn out décor (black, plastic table cloths which were dirty and torn, booth seats sagging, ripped and dirty, and absolutely horrible restroom conditions- specifically rotting wood so extensive the doors could not extend entirely to the floor...worse than most truck stop restrooms). The silverware was wrapped in very cheap paper napkins, the plates were so worn they looked dirty, and my husband asked for honey with his tea and received two honey bear plastic containers with no lids, about an inch of honey in each and covered in a hard crusted residue. We ordered two appetizers and shared an entrée: The appetizers were ok: Fried Portobello mushrooms and mozzarella. They left the hard-as-a-rock left over pieces on the plate which I felt was not very appealing. The Ceasar salad consisted of ice berg lettuce, crutons and way too much cheese. Jayson's spicy entrée was acceptable. In our opinion, the sad and dilapidated décor, lack-of-attention-to-detail and low quality food and presentation made this most likely our last visit to...
