Prater's Taters — Restaurant in Paris

I visited this restaurant during my lunch break with my husband. It wasn’t very busy at the time, so we expected a fairly quick and smooth experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

We placed our order and waited… and waited. After about 20 minutes had passed, we noticed that several tables who ordered after us had already received their food. Concerned about the time, I went up to the counter to ask about our order. The staff seemed confused and asked what we had ordered. I showed them my receipt, and they realized that our order had never been entered into the system — the staff member who took it simply forgot to put it in.

Mistakes happen, but what really stood out was the complete lack of accountability or customer service. No one apologized. No one offered an explanation. All they said was, “We’ll have your food right out.” At that point, I barely had any time left on my break to eat, so I asked them to pack it to go. Even then, it took another 10 minutes before the food was ready.

We left with our food, but still no one acknowledged the mistake or said anything like “we’re sorry” — not even a simple apology for the delay or inconvenience.

This experience left a bad impression. While the food might be decent (I didn’t get to eat it fresh), the service and communication definitely need improvement. I stopped in for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised at the number of items they had to offer. I always thought it was a baked potato only place but I was wrong. Along with the many baked potatoes options they have soup, salads and sandwiches. I had a Ruben with a side of mac and cheese, they were really good. It's always great to have another non-fast food option for lunch or dinner. I'll definitely be back!👍👍👍👍😉 Well on my second visit I tried one of their "name sake" baked potatoes. Not good at all! Great food. I didn't really think I'd necessarily like it but turns out I was wrong . I ate the BBQ BBQ baked potato. It was very good. Comparable to the real deal BBQ house style loaded potato with chopped pork. The so many types of potatoes dishes there. I still can't get over the fact that they make potato meals totally satisfying. Next time I'm going to try the taco style potato. If your in the area I'd recommend trying this place out. They have mr. Potato head toys there to wow the lil tumbleweeds , the ladies working there are pleasant and hardworking. Also they have really neat homemade cookies. I think we bought two heath bar cookies. Nice little place....
