Today's experience at auntie C's was the worst service that I have ever had there. The scrambled eggs were burnt, yes brown. For the child in our party we ordered the one waffle and one sausage off the kids menu, when they brought it to us it was the adult meal that had the two sausages and scrambled eggs, which is not what we ordered, and cost twice as much. When we brought it to her attention went to reach across the table and take it back, and my daughter said it's okay we don't want you to have to remake it. When we brought it up at the register as we were paying our bill, we were told oh well you chose to keep it anyway. (We chose to keep it anyway because of the old-fashioned thing of not wasting food and we knew they were just going to throw it away because it had already been at our table) When I said that nobody ever checked on us, the assistant manager said oh I did I check on your table multiple times! No, she didn't, we had to call them over multiple times to try to fix the order issues because they got several of our orders wrong. No one ever came and asked us how was our food or checked on us.. Then we had to sit there and wait 10 minutes for them to bring us our check after all five of us were done eating, they never did, so we had to go up to the cash register and ask for it. Like I said, I've never had such terrible service at auntie C's, today was by far the worst service I've ever had at this restaurant. The assistant manager then wanted to argue with me instead of just fixing it and taking my daughter's rubber, burnt scrambled eggs off the bill and only charging us for my grandson's kid waffle and piece of sausage, she said well I offered to take it but you choose to keep it, So that's why it's on the bill. I don't think I'll be taking my family that's visiting from out of town...
Read moreService was spectacular and we tipped well because of the service and not food. Three of us arrived at restaurant at 11:00 Sunday, so excited because of the positive reviews. We all ordered lunch items. Started with onion rings as appetizer just to try them. They were crispy and ok, not something I’d order again now that I’ve tried them. Next came the salads. The lettuce was lumpy and the cucumbers bitter and there were very few ingredients and we could not eat more than a few bites before setting them aside. One of us ordered chicken fried steak which mashed potatoes and gravy, which was tender, crispy, well seasoned and a big hit. Another order steak and fried potatoes and green beans. The steak was very thin and had so much pepper that only a small portion of it was eaten. The potatoes were the hit of the day and we all tasted them and loved them. The green beans were canned which surprised us. They were ok but the bacon was appeared to have been boiled, not a favorite. The steak lunch was not worth the over $20 it cost, The third party ordered the sancho which was a huge disappointment. It appeared to have canned cheese and canned chili and seriously lacking flavor. The salsa was ok. We all discussed that the rave reviews must have been from the breakfast food and not lunch. If we ever return, we definitely would order breakfast. I’ve never reviewed a restaurant before but I felt people should be made aware of our experience and know that for us, the $75 meal was a big let down with the exception of chicken fried steak...
Read moreI'm new to Valley Center and I love supporting local businesses so I had get me some Auntie C's. The ratings looked promising so we were excited. Heres the breakdown:
A t m o s p h e r e - Smalltown Cowboy Diner Mixed with School Cafeteria vibes The dining room staff were not uniformed, groomed, or united under an overarching resturaunt culture. 1 / 5
S e r v i c e - My familiy and I were seated pretty swiftly. We were offered a high chair or booster for our little one by the hostess. Our server was dull, and did not smile. Took our order. Asked if we needed boxes. Dropped check. Just the basics. Would have loved more of a personal connection. 2 / 5
F o o d - We really wished we had gone to McDonalds after our experience with the food at Auntie C's. The potions were large but I would have gladly sacraficed quantity for better quality. Nothing tasted fresh.
The salad, Icy cold and swimming in my dressing of choice. Cucumbers were bitter.
Chicken Fried Steak and Mashed Pot, I chose greenbeans as my side which were mushy ans tasteless. The Steak and breading were not calling me back for my next bite. It seemed that the ingredients just werent very fresh or good quality. The gravy was decent as were the mashe potatoes.
Overall: A let-down. Will be opting for fastfood, or...
