I can appreciate any good "cook-to-order" food establishment. However, if you are going to serve hot, fresh food and diminish waste cost, have a clean store front and well lit signage to help draw customers to your door, and a reasonably priced product, you may concider an investment into the customer relations aspect at the POS. As a consumer, if you make it through the doors but the interaction at the "front lines of a business" puts a sour taste in your mouth, the quality of product means nothing. Waiting at the counter, unaddressed, in silence as you watch the only cashier behind the counter continue sweeping the floor, during the lull between lunch and dinner rush (making eye contact and aware of your presence but making zero effort to acknowledge it much less let you know they'd be with you in a moment), makes you question why you'd support an establishment with your business that doesn't strive to keep their customers a close second to their product. Absoloutley no complaints on the food quality. Always able to count on consistency in that aspect. In the 10+ years I've been local to this store, I'd estimate the first 7 or 8 years, the customer service was great to adequate. Only in the recent 2 or 3 years has this "absolute must" for a business taken a turn from making the consumer feel welcome. Again, I ask myself, "What separates this business from any other in its industry? And why would I choose Captain D's over any of the surrounding restaurants?" Presentation is EVERYTHING! Image starts outside the doors of a business. If its not kept up through the end of an experience, in more facets than one, its less likely to draw a repeat customer. If business image is disregarded by its employees, the consumers view of it will eventually follow suit. I personally will go out of my way to places I know will treat me right solely for that reason. Id rather have a decent meal in a hole in the wall with smiling faces and attentive service, than a four course meal in a five star restaurant where they dont seem to care whether or not you are there. It can be done. But not until it is taught to be a priority from...
Read moreI truly wish that I could have gave them a 5-star rating but here lately I'd say in the last week or two they just aren't as good as they used to be I fell in love with Capt D's when I moved here in 2016 it started on 23rd Street in Panama City Florida because I worked at the hospital they had a young man there by the name of Matthew and I remember how he made me feel welcomed like I was important like I belonged there it is very polite and refer to me as ma'am. And here the last couple months I heard he was now employed at the Tyndall parkway location which I was delighted to hear and he was still that same very polite young man who always made sure we were happy with the food that me and my husband received when we left even though at times he would be in the kitchen all by itself he always is very polite and made us feel wanted it broke my heart when I heard but he was let go from another employee I just don't know if Captain D's will be the same without him and I guess if he is employed at another restaurant I will have to go there just to see him because he demonstrated true customer service he may not have been everybody's idea of the perfect person he was a bigger gentleman heavily covered in tattoos but he was good at his job and believe it or not customers like me and my husband enjoyed seeing himm and in my honest opinion there's a lot of people who should have left before him including your management because I have been cussed at by one of your managers at one time and he has never cussed at me the young ladies that would be smoking marijuana by the trash cans maybe they should have left first but I guess I'm probably partial because that young man was the definition Captain D's if I would have walked into that restaurant not knowing the name and receive the same service I would have called it Matthew's seafood house because he was that great. Please if there is any way to get him to come back I believe you should do so because I'm sure I am not the only person who found this young man...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. I never go to this Captain D’s I always go to the one on 23rd st. This time I gave this one my business and no wonder there’s no one inside or even at the drive thru. We were the only car there. There were workers sitting back by the back door with the door open laughing and talking. We ordered fish sandwiches. They put 2 pieces of the fish on a dry bun and about 5 French fries and gave it to us. Nothing like on the picture. We got down the road and seen what they gave us so I turned around and went inside this time. I stood at the front counter and no one came to assist me I looked thru the window on the kitchen door and they were all at the back door laughing and talking. I had to open the kitchen door and yell to get their attention. The gentleman came up front and I showed him the food I said where is the lettuce and tartar sauce. He said, “we don’t got no lettuce.” Then he said when the lettuce comes in it be rotten so you wouldn’t want it anyway! I hope the owner see these comments and hopefully care about their business. Yall are giving Captain D’s a bad reputation! On top of all that, I threw my plate away and my husband shared his sandwich with me because there was hair in my plate. The guy came from in the back twisting his dress or whatever that was on his head. His hair was in my plate. Long story short we waisted our money because we ended up throwing both plate away! How are yall keeping the doors open...
