Here's the whole (horror) story... Nov 2018 - Took my mower to have the blades sharpened and the brake repaired (it wasn't holding) Dec 2018 - Sent mower back, the brake was still not holding Dec 11, 2018 - Mower returned to me, brake working, but it's now making a weird noise. Received bill for $503.78 Dec 15, 2018 - Called Potestio Brothers and told them that I thought the bill was a bit too much just to repair a brake, they were nice enough to refund me $170 and that was good with me. May 1, 2019 - Started using the mower again but the mower was making a screeching noise. May 15, 2019 - Called Potestio Brothers and told them about the noise, asking if they could send someone out to check it out so I wouldn't have to have it picked up. They said they would do that. June 2019 - Three Saturdays have gone by and still no one from service has shown up or even called. July 2019 - Called Potestio Brothers again and was told they would have someone call me. Aug 3, 2019 - Still no call and now the mower has stopped working. They would have to expedite the call to the general manager (GM) because my account has been flagged (???) Aug 5, 2019 - Still no call from Jake (the GM). I asked the accounting person what "flagged" meant and was told that my account was a problem because I had "threatened" them to leave a bad review. That was not true. Aug 8, 2019 - I faxed Jake a letter describing my concerns. Jake returned my call only to say that he did not want to do business with me because I was "a liar" and that I had "threatened" to give Potestio Brothers a bad review. End of conversation. As of today (Aug 12, 2019), I now have to take my lawn mower all the way to Strasburg John Deere (28 miles away) to get it fixed when I have already paid Potestio Brothers to fix it. I will NEVER do business or refer anyone to do business with them. And as I can see from their reviews on here already, I'm not the only one who has been disrespected and burned by them. VERY...
Read moreDropped off my 1023e on the morning of July 2nd for basic maintenance. When I dropped if off I was told 2 weeks. Called exactly 2 weeks later and was told it was near the top of the list and it would be ready early in the third week. Today is July 28th and still nothing........ I called this afternoon and was told again that it was near the top of the list and would more than likely be ready sometime within the next 2 weeks. Needless to say I've had enough, no one has reached out to me to give me a status update or let me know it might be 6 weeks, I've had to call them for updates. I will be picking it up this evening even though they haven't even touched it. Very Very disappointed, had I know they wouldn't be able to get to it I would have kept it at home until they were actually ready for it. I am very very disappointed with the level of service I have received. I understand that I didn't purchase a whole fleet of $250K tractors but customer service is customer service. Seems like everyone I have deal with carries the attitude of "if you don't like it, tough! Go somewhere else, we don't care about your business"
Also on another very minor/comical note. Went in with my wife and she purchased a bag of microwavable popcorn from the parts counter. On the way home she was looking at it and it was already expired by over 6 months. Again very trivial but quite comical.
Thirdly a few years ago when I purchased the tractor new from Potestio Brothers it took about 3 weeks to be delivered which is understandable, however when it was delivered it had the wrong loader installed on it (I ordered it with the H120 quick disconnect loader and it came with the D120). They had to take it back and install the correct loader which added another...
Read moreUnsatisfactory Experience — Beware
I should have read the reviews before trusting Potestio Brothers (Parker, CO) to sell my skid steer. They had my machine for over two weeks and never even posted it online. From the beginning, I made it clear how crucial it was that people see the machine listed, otherwise I would have sold it myself, they never touched the machine, let alone cleaned it, Or gave it a simple wipe down. Nothing at all whatsoever was done, and yet they proceeded to tell us that we would be charged for their process to clean it as well as market it and list it not a single one of these items were done.
After weeks of waiting with no updates, I went in to ask about the status. I was told that “someone had put a deposit down.” This turned out to be completely false — the supposed buyer wasn’t even real. The level of dishonesty was shocking.
On top of that, the representative’s behavior was extremely unprofessional, rude, and hostile. When I pressed for answers, I was told to “just take the machine back then.” That kind of response is unacceptable and shows why they have equipment sitting on their lot for months without selling.
I have dealt with this company for many years, and it’s disappointing because they are one of the only local service providers for John Deere. However, after this experience, I will never buy another machine from them again. I will also be raising this issue with John Deere directly.
Save your money and your sanity — stay away from Potestio...
