Howard's Bagels — Restaurant in Parsippany-Troy Hills

We were visiting family in Lake Hiawatha. It is the day after Indigenous Peoples Day and we weren’t sure if anything would be open. My son and I drove around Beverwyck road for a little bit and found Howard’s Bagels. The store doesn’t look like anything special from the outside but it is very, very special from the inside! I had one of the best bagels of my life there, this morning. It reminded me of the bagels I ate over thirty years ago on Kings Highway in Brooklyn, NY. I grew up there and believe me, we lived on bagels.

My sesame seed bagel had just the right amount of sesame seeds, it was fat and soft. I had an egg and cheese on it. It was super fantastic ! My son had a toasted rainbow bagel with butter and jam. He gave it 7 stars out of 5 and my wife also had the egg and cheese on a sesame seed bagel. She also thought I must have driven from Parsippany NJ to Brooklyn to get such a perfect bagel.

I also got a coffee, I am embarrassed to say my expectations were low, but again, the coffee was fantastic. We arrived about 7am, and the store was not crowded. But by the time we were leaving with our order, the store was full of what seemed like regular customers. I also loved that the person who was taking orders and toasting the bagels knew many people’s orders. If I lived in this area, this would be my go to spot for coffee (I had the Dark Roast), bagels and lunch sandwiches.

First of all I want to say that bagels are very good, so my opinion has nothing about quality. My thing is that I was over there during the week at 6am , and ordered 2 dozens of bagels. In menu is said that I will recive 15 pcs as a dozen. I ordered and I've asked about it , answer was that I suppose to order earlier , so I got regular dozen(12pcs) of bagels. Second I know that order of total for 50$ is small , thats why I had to wait for bagels till they serve another guests who ware after me, because I've got time thay don't......good that they were no more people after me with order of 1 bagels because I would wait till 7 am....customer treating - very poor. It doesn't matter if you order a big batch , customer after you are more important. At rhe end they said that I can come for those 6 bagels later. Info for you ... people don't have time during the week comming for 6 bagels which you should provide... like you i'm working for 12-13 h per day , so when I should come for those bagels. ? Used to go to this place all the time but after this most recent visit I will not be going back. I ordered a taylor ham, egg and cheese spk on an everything bagel for myself and a everything bagel with tomato and scallion cream cheese for my girlfriend. We took the order to go. When we opened our food, we were extremely disappointed. My breakfast sandwich only had taylor ham and egg. No cheese and no spk and what looked like 1 egg and 2 slices of taylor ham. I saw the gentleman taking orders write down my exact order correctly. I know it is not his fault for the mistake. Whoever was in the back cooking and preparing the food completely disregarded half my order. Now my girlfriend opened hers and had the tiniest smear of cream cheese on her bagel and 1 thin slice of tomato. Barely anything on it. Spending close to $20 for both these items and a coffee was not worth it. If you go here, make sure you open your food to check to see if...
