Took my wife to a DineLA special lunch and this place doesn't disappoint. Our server is very accommodating. He explained everything to us when we are seated. We're offered water and he showed us the menus. He took his time and never rushed.
I ordered a Kirin light and a spicy pork belly for appetizer. The spiciness of the pork is mild and perfect accompaniment with the beer.
For DineLA starter, my wife ordered the ahi tuna watermelon salad and a main entree of Cajun seafood platter. The salad was fresh and perfect for summer weather. She ordered mild spice and it is perfect for us. I like this better than the boiling crab in Alhambra but everyone has their unique taste buds.
I ordered the 5 pcs fresh oysters and po boy soft shell crab sandwich. The oysters came with a ponzu green onion sauce, a horseradish and cocktail sauce. The oyster is ok in size and not as big as ones you get at AYCE places. The po boy sandwich is so good. The soft crab is crunchy with tartar sauce served with French fries. I asked well done on french fries with Cajun seasonings. It was so crispy that I ate all of the fries and took half of the sandwich home. It also came with garlic bread. There are 5 sides to choose and it come two sides per order.
There are parking everywhere near the place. It is next to 85 degrees bakery on Green street. There is a pay parking next to the restaurant but we prrfer to park on Fair Oaks. In between Green and Colorado. They offer 90 minutes free parking.
Happy hour is from 3pm to 7pm everyday and they have LA Dodgers happy hour whenever the Dodgers play. I will definitely come back and try...
Read moreWe got the crawfish Cajun pasta, Octopus and shrimp ceviche, veggie/shrimp/sausage toss with jambalayasauce added-
Server wonderful, we got in a bit late at about 9 pm. was empty. exterior looked very nice. Very clean.
Ceviche- needed more meat pieces but was very good. A bit spicy. large tortilla corn crisps. $16
Shrimp and sausage veggie toss and asked if they could add jambalaya sauce since the ingredients were pretry much the same vs the pasta and rice dish. They accommodated and it tasted great. no extra charge. Decent flavor for the jambalaya sauce. Shrimp were a bit overcooked. 5 total. One of which had an off taste due to not being fresh. $17.
Crawfish pasta was just okay.. small pieces/not enough crawfish. It was a bit dry/needed more sauce. Overall not the best. Especially for the written price on the paper menu-$19.
When Bill came the price of the crawfish pasta was $23. Told them they needed to change the price on their menu and you can't false advertise/charge a different price even if the cost went up. At $23 absolutely not worth getting.
Tvs loud, not needed when it was just us and one couple not even facing TVS. Multiples still on near closing time. had hard time hearing our server and my companion. Was irritating.
Our server was wonderful though, very considerate, accommodating and friendly. Also got us extra chips for the ceviche and asked if I can do the veggies/shrimp/ sausage toss with the jambalaya sauce. His name was Patrick
Overall would not go back. only decent food. With some tweaks could be a really good...
Read moreHad a good experience here. Came w 5 friends parked in the underground garage paid parking took the elevator up.
Initially went to boiling crab but wait line was over an hour so came here. In front of gyu Kaku which is also good.
Seated quickly didnt wait around 6 and 7 on a weekend. Server Patrick was very friendly and helpful. The wait for the food was delayed so they offered some sides. Good customer service here. Water was always filled. Server was attentive and fun matched the energy of our table even though it got busy.
The food is good here. Got the 3lbs steaming pile of crab for 99 dollars. Got two of them to share w 6ppl but get more sides or you'll be hungry. I think there was only one or two king crab legs per plate. Paid 40-50 per person to get full on mostly crab. Bread was good to soak up the flavor. Fries were decent kinda bendy not crisp. Corn was corn if youre into that. Nice change and variety in flavor and texture from just crab.
No bibs or aprons, but they give u tools to crack and cut open the crabs. The flavoring is great 👍 really enjoyed the food. I usually like spicy food so asked for cajun powder on the side.
The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The vibes of the restaurant are nice for family friends etc. There's a bar area. Lots of beers. Menu on their website.
Tvs playing sports on Wall. Volume of the place is lively when its gets busy.
Seemed popular w dineLA. My friends and I enjoyed this experience and...
