Order here if you: like uncooked pizza dough want to get a rude service (plus getting yelled at) want to be treated like you are a cheapskate asking for a free pizza when you were just telling them that their pizza is undercooked.
I really wanted to like this place because it is very close to my apartment. However, they got the worst customer service. I have ordered few times here and never had any problem before until today. The pizza I received was not fully cooked. The dough was still sticky in the middle and so soft that I could mold it and bake a pie. The dough literally looked like melted mozzarella cheese. (See the pictures)
I called the store, and they treated me like I was trying to get a free pizza. I can understand that because I worked in a restaurant before, and saw few people doing that. I wanted to be nice to them and just tell them they need to watch out for undercooked food. Then, I would probably have throw the pizza into my oven and just cook it myself. However, the way they instantly talked rudely at me just turned me off. Let me tell you if the Pizzaman workers are reading this: I DON'T NEED A FREE PIZZA BECAUSE I CAN AFFORD ONE MYSELF. ALL I WANTED WAS A FULLY-COOKED PIZZA! They talked so rudely and they were pissed at me for telling them that the pizza is under-cooked. They told me (almost yelled) that I should have asked for a "well-done pizza." I have never ordered a well-done pizza from anywhere else and never received a undercooked pizza, so I just assumed that this place cooks their dough all the way. Also, when I ordered with them before, the pizzas were fully-cooked. However, they are telling me that it is my fault that the pizza is undercooked.
They asked rudely if I want to get another pizza, and I didn't want to because who knows if they are going to contaminate my food. I didn't want to risk getting a contaminated pizza because they sounded angry and rude. I don't trust people who get easily tilted to handle my food.
They gave me a refund on the pizza, but they said, "I can't refund it if there's more than two slices gone." For sure, they thought I was trying to get free food because I told them my husband and I didn't finish our two slices because of the dough. smh. The delivery guy came to pick up the pizza, and he even opened the box to see if we didn't eat more than two slices. Also, they never apologized for anything.
To be honest, their food isn't that good, so I am fine with not ordering here. Their wings are tooooooo greasy and blend. The pizza is "eh." I just ordered here before because it just opened and tried to find a good pizza place.
See the pictures: The dough looks like cheese and so sticky that it sticks to the box like glue. I can also mold the uncooked dough! The crust looks cooked, but in the middle it is still sticky. You can see that the color in the middle is darker and looks wet, because IT IS.
I will never order from this place again, and stop my family/friends/neighbors from...
Read moreI apologize if this is not the typical review I write, but when something like this happens, I like to share it so people can see who is behind the restaurant and what their characters are.
John is a man of integrity and honesty. He trusts his employees and run his business with respect. I used to frequent Pizza Man when I lived closer, and their thin crust pizza has always been my favorite. There was an issue today when I ordered via Grubhub (first time), John called me on the phone after, he was very open and honest about the issues with the third-party system and shared with me challenges on their side and what could've potentially happened. They delivered the pizza, I couldn't find the pizza no matter how hard I tried. I am a person who I believes strongly in morals and values. He trusted me and his employees, he took the fall for it and wished me a good day. That didn't sit well with me, that a business owner of such character was punished for something that they most likely didn't do. It was never my intention to cause trouble for a local restaurant by asking Grubhub's customer support, I simply couldn't find my pizza (I'm still not sure where it went) and just wanted to know what to do next. So I drove to Pizza Man, asked for John, and handed him the $20 for the pizza. John was adamant on not taking the $20 and instead ask that I simply come again next time (in person or call via phone) to buy another Pizza from them. He trusted me and he knew things like this could've happened, he refused many many times and he told me that he can tell I was being honest and wasn't someone who was just trying to cheat the system. I felt the same, I would much rather give the $20 and keep an honest local restaurant going (regardless of how small a $20 is) than to see one with such morals close someday. I put the $20 on the counter and backed away. He was still adamant but I insisted. He finally caved and gave a small smile from the exhausting day he had at the restaurant, he thanked me and asked me to come back soon. I smiled back, told him I will, and left.
I will definitely visit again soon John! Only this time, I'll make sure to order directly from the Pizza Man website...
Read moreThis place was a "hit or miss" for us, but way more misses than hits. So, we won't be eating here anymore, especially since last night. I think Pizza Man tried to kill us- both my son & wife were ill (I'd go into details, but I'd rather not) last night & today. We got pizza & chicken (fried). The pizza was supposed to have "extra cheese," which I paid extra for, but it seemed regular to us. One pizza (pepperoni & mushrooms) was good, the other (pepperoni & chez) was not good. You could do better buying a frozen pizza. Which isn't saying much for Pizza Man. The chicken? The way they do the fried chicken is they throw it in the fryer with 2 day old oil. That's what it smelled like. No spices, just grease & chicken. Not even salt. Last night's chicken did not even look good enough to eat. It looked like the chicken was riddled with bone cancer. It was not a healthy chicken (alive or dead). Almost makes me want to become a VEGAN (God help me). It (the Terminal chicken) ended up in the trash. My dog "MILLIE Beast" didn't want any part of it.
So, in summary, don't order from PIZZA MAN. In Espanol: "NO MAS PIZZA HOMBRE."
UPDATE: 3 days later my wife is still ill (bad stomach cramps). She hasn't eaten anything since the pizza except toast, and is going to the bathroom every hour or so. I'm not 100% either, though ok compared to my wife. I'm going to call Urgent Care right now. The owner needs to find out who made or prepared the food the day or day before I wrote this review, and see if safe food preparation is being done there. The fried chicken was definitely not fresh, diseased maybe, and something was off with Pepperoni Pizza. I know I sort of joke a bit, but in all seriousness, don't order from this place. I should have taken pictures, but my...
