My lovely spouse and I rolled in way after everything else had closed on a Saturday night, close to closing, on our way back from a concert at the Rose Bowl.
This place is clean, large, a good bar space. But what really made it heads above just about any of these types of places was the service.
We were hungry, tired, just wanted to relax a few minutes before heading back to the hotel, and the bartender who was in charge came up with food we could have, the drinks we wanted, was welcoming, nice, accommodating and went above and beyond to make us comfortable even though it was almost closing on a Saturday night.
Venues are venues. What makes a bar like this worth going to are the people.
The person we were lucky enough to come across was perfect.
The few customers at that time mellow and nice as well.
Will make it a point to go back if we're in Pasadena and need a late night snack and drink.
Probably worth 5 stars, but I only give 5 if I've been multiple times, so don't think of the 4 as...
Read moreWent to the Cold Play concert at the Rose Bowl. We Ubered in. As you all know, expect a long walk out before you can get a $90.00 ride share to take you 2 miles. We were wet from rain showers. Hungry and tired. Chose this place as it advertised food and good drink. We arrived went in and there were quite a few people. Sat at a table. Nobody came to serve us. 10-15 minutes of sitting there I went up to the bar. 1 bartender and one other person who wasn't doing much of nothing. Stood there for another 10 to 15 until the bartender finished his conversations with seated rail customers, to ask what I wanted. I asked for a menu first. He stated they don't serve food. Kitchen closed. Nothing. Not even fried stuff. Ordered drinks for the 4 of us. Horrible. Old fassion was disgusting. Mai Tai was OJ and Rum. Wasted lots of time and money to go to a place that advertised food. No service. No food. Bad drinks. Never...
Read moreGood selection of beers. Helpful service. Looking forward to going back. I am giving a low review because this place advertises itself as a gastropub, of which it most definitely is not. It is a pub or dive bar.
We really enjoyed the beer, but the food was only marginal. Three of us ordered the fish tacos as well as a guac and chips appetizer. The tacos themselves were very tasty especially after a splash of hot sauce. The beans were obviously from a can and the rice was under flavored. The guac could really have used a dash of salt and the chips were no big deal - definitely on the greasy side.
When I go back, if they have improved - I will gladly update my review. Otherwise, I am looking forward to drinking beer, not...
