Tacos Poncitlan chose a great location to place their second restaurant. This location was convenient for me because it was closer to my house. The employees are very nice and welcoming. The food is great and the prices are even better! For example, their asada tacos are the best especially with their signature green salsa. The prices are cheaper than other taco restaurants. I really like how they are expanding the availability of their food by opening new restaurants. You can get a combination plate with your choice of meat, rice, and beans for only $7. We were so excited to try Tacos Poncitlan at its new location here in Pasadena. This restaurant has been in business since 1994 so we expected it would be good. WRONG! It was GREAT!
We ordered the carne asada, grilled fish, and veggie taco for a quick light lunch. All were tasty and satisfying, especially when you consider the low price. The handmade corn tortillas stood out, as did the smoky red sauce on the fish taco.
After just one visit I can safely say that this place will be our go-to neighborhood spot for super tasty inexpensive tacos.

We are new to the area and were desperate for a yummy meal a few days after moving in. Having come from a neighborhood where there's a taco stand within a stone's throw in every direction, we were jonesing for tacos for sure! And Tacos Poncitlan did not disappoint! The food was DELICIOUS, the service was warm and friendly and the price can't be beat. We had carne asados tacos from the outdoor grill (apparently only available Thursdays/Fridays) and vegetarian nachos. The lady at the register even added grilled onions and peppers when she realized I wasn't ordering meat in the nachos. I definitely appreciated her thoughtfulness.
