
Apparently this charming little hole-in-the-wall place is a converted dive bar. It has beautiful hard wood floors and artsy decor. They specialize in whiskey. On Fridays they have jazz and tacos. What more could you possibly want? I can't wait to come back. The pink drink in the picture is called a Paper Plane and I also had two old fashions. They pour heavy and the drinks taste delicious. If I lived in Pasadena no question this would be my main spot. I wish I could come here every day. They also have PLENTY of parking. Only downside is they don't serve food. Read moreThis place is a gem!!! Bartenders are so nice and welcoming. They also make proper drinks! The wife and I are martini snobs and 1881 has hands down one of the best gin martinis. I believe the gal that made it was Adda or Addy. Like all the cool spots, the outside can be a little misleading but once you're in, you get fully immersed in a suave jazzy setting. I say jazzy setting cause they also have Jazz nights!!!

I realize they need to make a living, but the drinks are way overpriced ($11 for a glass of ginger beer, $13 for a can of beer, and so on).
