Place is clean and staff are nice. Food is good . So my Family ordered chicken mole, flautas, Carne asada tacos, Shrimp with red sauce and cow tongue with green sauce and everything was delicious. They also brought out a Habanero green hot sauce which was good. But not spicy for my taste buds.As you know I like spice! So let me just review the food now the Chicken mole was really good , Although it did kind of taste like donya maria's mole I would recommend it for those who don't like Mole that's too strong. The floutas were good.I ordered chicken and it was really tasty. It was juicy and the flavor was there.I love the crunchy flour tortilla. The tacos were good.It was beef and they come with green sauce and red sauce. Both were good, very flavorful.Typical taco meal love it! So The shrimps and red sauce Is supposed to be hot, but I'm immune to hot sauces. This was really good.Has a good kick and it's delicious. The shrimps are big and it feels you up.I would order this again. And last But not least the Cow tongue in green sauce. That one is my favorite , I actually ordered this couple of times that I've been here. This one is Best it comes with Tomatillo green sauce and onion. Now all of the dishes come with rice and beans. And those are really good too.I highly recommend this place...
Read moreProud to say in true LA fashion that our neighborhood spot El Matador, is banging. I mean, consistently so good. I’m a good cook, and I get here and I just want to drink the salsa they put on the table, with the fresh tortilla chips, it’s hard not to ruin your appetite on several servings of free chips & salsa alone. To say that their salsa is good is only one piece of the puzzle, a corner piece. This evening I had their flautas. I told the main guy, I said, obviously you guys care about your flautas, like you actually give a fck about your flautas, and he smiled and agreed. With humility and assurance. These are no frozen flautas. Anyone can make those. These were fcking gold. The whole thing could have melted in my mouth, from the tortillas (what where they, clouds?), to the filling of chicken, cheese, and scattered shreds of poblano, to the way the tortillas were cooked to a brown crisp at the edges but left to a buttery softness at the middle like damn bro. They didn’t have to do it like that but they did and they do. As a solo lady diner my pro tip for solo diners is to sit by the door and face the mountains. It’s really beautiful...
Read moreI'd give it 6 stars if I could! The best Mexican restaurant I've ever visited:) my family visited this place after walking Descanso Gardens just looking for something to eat, and I'm glad we did. I ordered enchiladas with chicken and chorizo. I've made all types of enchiladas but I've honestly never thought of doing that. Rice and beans were tasty too and there was a pretty big portion size. Even my little sister-who was complaining we weren't getting pizza-was actually really happy to eat her cheese enchiladas from the kids menu. She even said it was like a new form of pizza so it must've REALLY been good. All 5 of us liked our dishes, the service was fast, and they even offer outdoor dinning. Bathrooms were modest and clean. The only thing I didn't care for were the paintings and actual theme of the place, but that is taken with lower consideration than the food and service. Definitely will be...
