Went to the Popeyes location at 237 market street in Paterson New Jersey for the first time and it was honestly the worst Popeyes experience I’ve had. Their drive thru system is very insufficient and seems to be used for all walk in and drive thru orders placed in person and online. My boyfriend and I had two separate orders and when we told the lady at the drive thru about them, she said she had just received them and to give her a few minutes. We were very understanding and told her not to worry about it and that we would wait. After waiting 20 minutes we went to get our order and the lady at the drive thru claimed that the orders didn’t come through and that we must’ve used a third party website to place our orders (we used the Popeyes app). We had to wait another 25 minutes in a line of both people and cars before we finally got our food. We tried asking for sauces and the lady at the drive thru was pretty rude about it. Every sauce we asked for she said they didn’t have. In the end, my wings were majority breading with barely any meat and were not cooked well. My biscuits were overly cooked, dry, and rock hard so I couldn’t even eat them. I was also missing an apple pie (I ordered 4 in total and got 3). The only decent item was the strawberry lemonade that I ordered. I was very disappointed in the customer service and quality of food to say the least and I’ve never had an issue like this with Popeyes in the past. I would like a refund for my order as my time was completely wasted for food that wasn’t even worth...
Read moreI've gone here more than once before but never frequently. It is mostly when I past through this area and there's a "deal/coupon". Previously the cashiers were not that great and some of them had attitudes. The day I went the cashiers were ok but what made me write this review is there were two little girls who only had a little bit of money to buy food for both of them. The cashier should have suggested the cheapest option for them to get a full meal inside allowing the little girls to order just wings and not enough money for fries and a drink. The cashier did ask if they wanted just wings or the meal however, had she explained the price difference between the options they may have gotten the combo but because they did not know any better they did not do that they just ordered wings.
I did listen to the entire conversation not because I was being nosey but because I am a Mother and was concerned they would not have enough money which they did technically but because of the way the cashier allowed them to order they did not.
I say all of this to say this was a simple customer service opportunity for the cashier. I did pay for the girls to have fries and they opted out of getting a drink when offered but, had the lady just asked the girls did they also wanted fires and they had said she could have told them it was cheaper to get the combo not get...
Read moreThis is the only Popeye’s I go to whenever I feel the need for a few naked chicken tenders and Mardi Gras sauce. Yea, sometimes it calls me lol Anyway, the staff is cool, I mean, it’s Paterson, they deal with alot - I’ve never had a problem but with one young lady and she’s wasn’t there too long. 👍🏾 Depending on when you go - lunch time the line/wait can get long. When it’s busy, the bathroom can get pretty messy. I usually get my food and eat in my car. All in all 🤷🏾♀️ I ask them sometimes to cook my tenders a minute longer because I’ve bitten into a few undercooked thicker ones - a definite appetite spoiler but besides that. I know what I’m walking in to when I open the the door so hey.....
Update: I think that it’s only fair to update my review for its been some time since my initial one. I have to add a star. The lines move faster now and the bathroom is locked and protected. You have to ask to be buzzed in to gain access and it’s pretty clean so I’m glad to say that. The service workers there are polite. Still the only Popeye’s I go to when that...
