Walking into the Payson AZ Jimmy Johns the place was virtually empty. I was about to see why. The place seemed clean so that wasn't it. It was lunchtime during a work day so you would think customers would be there. NOPE. I gave my order to the woman behind the counter. It was simple "A number 8 please". She just stood there. I wondered if I should give the order in another language. "I would like a Number 8" I repeated "with no lettuce, Jimmy peppers, tomatoes and spicy mustard". She was still confused until a young man stepped up behind her and repeated the order. Then another young man gegan to put the sandwich together. I received the sandwich and began to eat it. Now two things immediately went wrong. The first bite was met with such a thick layer of mustard all other flavors of meat, cheese and vegetables were indeterminable. Still I decided to try another bite. As I bit in my mouth was filled with gooey unbaked bread dough. I inspected the sandwich and found over half the bread loaf was still raw inside. I asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be the young (very young) man who instructed the cashier on completing the order. I told him the sandwich was so bad I shouldn't even have to ask for a refund and the bread was grossly underbaked. He looked at me , looked at the sandwich, threw it into the trash, said "Have a nice day" and walked into the back of the store out of sight. So now I understand why the store was empty at lunch time. I will not return and I will inform everyone I can how bad the service and food is at the Payson...
Read moreAt 11:30 May 5, I ordered a toasted chicken and ranch sandwich, and a Roast Beef. I'd give you the receipt number but after she rung it up to the card and I reached for the print out but she snagged it away and it never came back, Maybe it's with the chicken I didn't get in the sandwich? I
think I can anecdotally suggest that if that's all the meat they got from that chicken that it could be still alive. If management is telling them to short change the customer they obeyed. My take home meal was about $23± with tip. My tip for the next customer, try Subway. If the employee held back on the chicken for me, for their own lunch, very clever, but poor training by management, or theft.
At these prices I could have even had two Quarter Pounders with Cheese and Fries and some meat. I wanted a real sandwich, with some protein, today was a fail at JJ's. I didn't know I was short changed until I got home and opened the sandwich to hunt for the chicken. They offered a replacement, but what else would be in that replacement sandwich from an employee caught in the act? If I want to play roulette, I'll use the wheel at the casino, not some employee looking to get even for being called out. Besides a round trip would have meant my wife and I would have been dining separately, which was not...
Read moreWhatever happened 6 or 7 months ago really made this place go downhill fast. I used to LOVE them and would personally order frequently as well as use for my staff lunches. Between rude staff and completely poorly made skimpy sandwiches 2 visits in a row, I contacted customer service with pictures and exact dates and time for them to review the incidents. They were very kind and attentive, although the only recourse was credit at this Payson store. The workers there were even ruder and condescending upon me trying to place an order for a small staff lunch. I didn't get through ordering before I decided enough was enough. I would do ANYTHING to make it right for a customer, the kid on the phone made it VERY clear he was not interested in that at all. Even putting me on hold for 10 minutes, though just putting the phone down so I could hear the staff, not busy, simply laughing and joking with each other. When I spoke with customer service about this, after scrambling for a different lunch for my staff, I was told they would work on getting me a refund in form of a check sent, though as of 2 months now, nothing has been done. It is sad that they have let this great place...
