Macky's Grill — Restaurant in Payson

Update: I went again up to Payson with my friend Jen, to eat at Mackey's Grill. I ordered the Patty Melt with Potato Salad. I generally Love Patty Melts. This one was decent but needed more seasoning.

The Potato Salad was decent, but I've had way better. We did find out it isn't homemade but their Coleslaw is. I should have ordered the Coleslaw!

No folks that isn't a Beer in the pic, I had a Bottled Vanilla Creme Soda, which they bring you a frosted mug to drink it out of. Was very good!

I ordered a Slice of their Carrot Cake to go (a favorite), Jen ordered 2.

I would have loved some Zucchini or Onion Rings but $11.50 is too pricey for an Appetizer, that cost more then my Burger n side.

When Jen got her food the Fries looked so good I ordered a side of those too with ranch.

Jen had an Orange Creme Soda and the special which was a Taco Burger, which she said both were great!

Also we had a Great Waitress named Jaeden, she is Cute and Attentive...Great Service!!!

July 11, 2021 Our waitress Brittney, was Awesome ! Friendly, Helpful, great overall personality and of course attentive! This is only my 2nd visit, I am from Mesa and travel to Payson or thru Payson as often as I can. Stumbled upon Macky's Grill 2 months ago with a good friend and decided to stop to day with my sister. I ordered the 3pc Chicken Tenders (actually got 4) with Loaded Potato Soup and a Rootbeer! I also order a Carrot Cake and told her I'd probably want another to take home later. Tenders we're decent (Chick-fil-A is better thou), loved the soup! My sister ordered the sandwich + soup She got the BLT with Avocado and cup of Poblano Soup, loved them both perfect amount of food she said. Their Carrotcake is Awesome I ordered it to-go on first trip and took one bite, it was so good I ordered a 2nd to-go too. So wanted the same this time... Brittney came back, very upset apologizing that she had set a slice aside for me but someone else took it and sold it and they were out. I felt bad that she was so upset, it really wasn't a big deal and I told her so, I would have loved to have it but not worth making someone upset, plus saved me from eating too many sweets!

May 2021 Worth a visit! Great Patty Melt! I asked for burger to be done, it was slightly pink, but very good. Potatoes salad was decent! Then ordered Carrot Cake & a Southwest Cheesecake to go! Took a bite of the Carrot cake before leaving, probably the best I've ever had. No raisin (which I hate in cake)...it was slightly warm which I think made it better. It was so good I ordered another to...

On a day trip to Payson, we were looking for somewhere to eat lunch. Stopped at a few shops and asked the cashier's what are some of the best restaurants in Payson? And Mackys Grill kept coming up as a great place. You walk in and kinda get a Texaz Grill/ Bill Johnson's type of vibe. It took about a minute before we were greeted and a few minutes before we were seated. The restaurant was about half full, so us on big city time were starting to get worried if we had made the right decision. We were starving and the menu looked like it had a ton of great options. Pricing was on par with an Applebee's or Chili's. We started with the tater tot barrels and from the first bite we were hooked. You get about 6 jumbo tater tots that are nice and crispy on the outside. On the inside pure magic,creamy like a mashed potato with a hint of sour cream and some bacon 🤤. The food also seemed to be a little longer than we would expect. I think we are so hardwired for this fast food culture. Maybe it's us that are backwards, it was worth the wait every single bite. Starting with the Mackey's burger,added bacon and American cheese. A perfect burger,every single bite was delicious it also came with an insane amount of fries. Next the half slab of ribs,with meat that falls right off the bone. Partnered with probably one of the best cornbreads I've ever had and I'm not even a fan of cornbread. Also the half sandwich half soup combo. I'm a fan of almost any sandwich and this grilled turkey sandwich was delightful. The soup, THE SOUP was delicious and unique. Chicken Poblano soup had the perfect amount of spice. The entire meal was perfect,every plate was a winner. Not one person was unhappy at the table (which is rare). If you're ever in Payson definitely stop at Mackey's Grill! I only wish we had one...

Macky's Grill in Payson has officially become our new go-to spot for fantastic food whenever we're passing through! We came on a busy Saturday afternoon and received excellent service. Despite the restaurant being bustling, our server was remarkably attentive, checking on us frequently and refilling our drinks without us having to ask – a sign of truly exceptional service. The entire restaurant was spotlessly clean, which always makes for a more enjoyable dining experience.

One of the highlights for us was the dog-friendly patio with live music!

We both ordered the veggie burgers with all the toppings (even vegan mayo!), and for some reason, they were in a league of their own – significantly better than veggie burgers we've had at most other restaurants. They were served with a generous portion of perfectly cooked French fries, though we noted there were several other tempting side options available for those who are not vegan.

Overall, Macky's Grill offers an unbeatable combination of superb service, a clean and inviting atmosphere, and seriously delicious food with vegetarian and vegan options. We can't wait to stop by again on our next trip...
