Trying to figure out where to go for sibling day out, we ended up choosing Ted’s Montana Grill -Peachtree City. Having never been to this location before, I was excited.
Arriving to the location, Ted’s Montana Grill - Peachtree City sits in the plaza which is ideal for parking. The area is very clean and perfect for a day of shopping followed by a great meal. Walking up to Ted’s the outside is simple and clean. The front presents the Ted’s Montana statement branding and has the chalkboard out front with the daily specials. There is a patio off to the left so if outdoor seating is your thing, they got you.
I walked in and immediately noticed that this location is small in comparison to the one I went to in Marietta. This location has a cozy feel and displays an intimate ambiance. As I had booked a reservation online in advance, which was super easy to do as their website is very straight forward, I provided my name and was asked if we preferred a booth or table. As we desired a booth there would be a wait as they were all full… I think this question should be incorporated into the online booking process as it has a direct impact on the wait.
As my reservation was for 6:15 pm, I checked in at about 6:07 pm and was seated by 6:27 pm. As we waited I was able to take in the scene as a whole. The restaurant was clean. All of the staff was smiling and engaging, as well as the flow of traffic was consistent.
Once seated, our waitress arrived immediately and greeted us. She was very warm, very inviting, and ready to assist. She advised us of the daily special which was the Prime Rib and was ready to take our drink order. Great service!
After taking our drink order, she allowed us time to decide on our order. By the time she returned, we were ready and so was she. Woo hoo!
I decided on the Ted's Bacon Cheeseburger which is detailed as, “Bison or beef burger topped with Cheddar or Swiss, smoky bacon and grilled onions with fresh-cut fries or your choice of side.” For my side, I opted to go with the 50/50 Fries & Onion Rings. This side is, Half fresh-cut fries, half hand-breaded onion rings.
Once the orders were placed, our drinks were refreshed and she advised the food would be out soon.
Time To Eat!
As I decided on Beef - Well Done, my burger was spot on. It was the right temp and not overdone. It was super meaty, most, and perfectly seasoned. All of the fixings were fresh and nothing was wilted. The bacon was meaty and crispy. The thickness allowed for the center to still be crisp but soft on the inside which allowed the juices to flow upon biting in. Oh yes. This burger was a perfect balance of flavors with a simple variety of texture layers. The bun was perfectly toasted and not soggy as the fixings cone on the side for the desired layering of your choosing.
My 50/50 was 50% amazing and 50% unacceptable. The Onion Rings were spot on. The tender onion was battered in a seasoned batter and fried to perfection. As the onion ring was cooked to perfection, the batter was able to marry easier and allow for a perfect bite every time. The fries… this 50% was another story. You could tell they had been sitting for a while. Not only were they not fresh, they had been sitting for so long that they had taken on the texture of cardboard and reminded me of a cereal box. As you can imagine, I had one Frit and let them stay on the plate as they weren’t edible at all. Though the fries were a waste, it wasn’t worth sending them back as it was only a partial order with it being 50%. However, I know to not order fries again from this location.
Minus the fries, the meal was absolutely amazing. The burger, the bacon, and the onion rings were a perfect pairing. Also, the portions are so good, I had leftovers for later. And yes, the burger and onion rings retained their flavor after being reheated.
If you’re in the area and in the mood for a good meal and good ambiance, stop in to Ted’s Montana Grill -...
Read moreFirst of all, I want to say that we are very easy going, we were not even close to getting upset when there is a strange bug in our salad (at that time, our server Owen, handled the situation really well, kudo to the server team). But it seem like a certain receptionist here just really do not want our business.
Went to visit this location on July 27 afternoon, but it is pretty obvious that the receptionist does not like us. We arrived and was put on the waitlist for a booth, she said to wait 45 minutes, so we wait on the bench right next to the receptionist computer station. Then a few other groups came in and they were told to wait just like us. But they all got a booth before us, and the receptionist was also chatting with them in a much more friendly manner as well. Further more, when we were the only group left waiting, we were still not getting the booth once they become open. We were only shown to our booth once a lot of the patrons left and it was getting increasingly awkward to have us sitting around waiting when multiple booths and tables were cleaned up for A WHILE.
Normally we are very forgiving and easy going, but this is not the first time this happens to us, there was two other times when experienced the same thing (watching every customers come in after us and getting their seat before us, and became the last in line). We felt uneasy about it, but we convinced ourselves that they all had reservations. But, since happens so many times, we actually pay attention to the same receptionist this time, and sure enough they were on the wait list and the groups that came in later was told to wait x,y,z minutes just like us and yet we were still last in line.
On our way out, we were told by a waitress that it is that receptionist's last day, hopefully it is true. We had really high opinion of the waiters and waitresses here, one even remember our usual order, but we really cannot continue to visit the place being treated like 2nd class customer by the...
Read moreThis was the worst service I have had at a restaurant in several years. I'm not kidding, this is no exaggeration. When we arrived, there was a wait for a table, and we were told that there would be a 20 minute wait. That was fine with us. We gave the host our number and waited. 30 minutes later, we saw a couple of people called for tables who came in after us. After a 45 minute wait, we approached the host (a different person now) and asked what the hold up was. They informed us that there were 2 parties ahead of us and to please just wait. (what?). We then sat and watched as several parties were seated who appeared to be reservations that were made AFTER we came in. It was a Twilight Zone type of moment. Finally after an hour, we became annoyed and approached a man who was wearing a suit and appeared to be a floor manager. He gave us a bunch of excuses that clearly weren't true because he was obviously trying to cover for the other hosts who really must have screwed up. Additionally, the guy kept closing his eyes and holding his eyes shut while speaking to us. It was...frankly...really bizarre. It came off like he was wishing us away in his mind. He finally told us he would find us a table. After another 8-9 minutes we were seated. The waitress was very odd. She asked for our drink orders. We told her we had waited an hour, so we knew what we wanted already. She refused to take any food orders and said "it isn't time for that yet." HUH?! Who says that? When she finally came "at the right time" to take our order, she informed us that the carrots and mac n cheese were "terrible" and we should not order them. I asked her what I should order and she said "anything that isn't those." Oddly enough, the food was pretty good. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had, but we got burgers, and they were all a solid 8/10. I will never return, though. Such a weird staff. Weird waitress. ...
