Update: The two dudes in the kitchen seem to be killing it. Moving quickly and getting things done. Got four decent size orders done and ready with just a few minutes of walking in.
Waiting to pick up a delivery for about an hour. Had been told they are cooking it three separate times and couldn't tell if they were or not. Drivers have come and gone with orders. They don't seem to give a lick to do orders in order of when placed. Have watched delivery drivers come pick up and leave immediately the entire time. Bs. Waiting patiently. Was in a good mood. Guy at the counter doesn't give a crap about his job. When asked how long it'd be or what im waiting on to be done, he got attitude, saying he doesn't know he's not a cook, saying I think I'm special because im asking a simple question, and he's refusing to do his job. It's a simple thing to ask how long it's going to be or what their waiting on to finish up cooking when it's been this long. I mean damn been waiting an hour while you say tell the cooks to start it over and over. Aka, it's not been started twice when it was supposed to be. It's a waste of my time to just be here waiting on an order that I don't know if you're actually even making or not. He just kept saying I could just cancel the order. I've been waiting an hour. I not able to cancel, they would have to, and really? after waiting an hour for yall to cook one plate. Really? It took an hour to cook. Complete bs. He tried saying he wasn't gonna give me the order and told others not to hand me the order, to just cancel it because I called him out. Watched as a guy already waiting on his order to get taken and had said he was trying to order get told to sit and he can wait to place his order, while the lady behind him said she's after him. The guy is too busy trying to impress the lady wanting to order having to get her order first. Highly unprofessional man at the counter that shouldn't work anywhere that customer service is involved. He doesn't care to have common decency, simple customer service, or his job. I haven't been fired up like this in years. Fire this garbage. I don't have a clue how anyone would come here...
Read moreThe best way to get your order before everybody else if you are a delivery driver is to disregard any lines up there and go up to the counter and stick your phone in an employee's face, showing the customer name. True story. Happened to me this morning. Was standing patiently in line waiting my turn behind one other person and a boy walks in, disregards the line, walks up to the counter, sticks his phone in her face and he gets his order. I said to boy, this is the line, employee heard me, apparantly felt like she needed to put me in my place for speaking up, and said 'there aren't any lines here'. Employees that act like that are just as bad as the rude delivery driver. Don't be polite, considerate, and wait your turn at this restaurant - IT WILL GET YOU NOWHERE. They don't even have any signs for pick up, order here, etc etc etc. Everybody is just all over the place. I had an employee at a restaurant one time - NOT American Deli - thank me for not just walking up to her, not speaking, and just sticking my phone in her face. She said that's what a lot of people do. They won't speak and just walk right up sticking their phones in the employee's face. I never do that. If they ask to see the name on phone I'll show them, but otherwise I just tell them the name. Anyways, I gave American Deli - this location - one star for at least always fixing the drinks instead of having the drivers do this, as some American Deli locations and a small handful of other restaurants do. And be careful speaking your mind up there - they don't like hearing the truth and they'll give you a thumbs down and bad feedback. Won't put a dent in my high ratings; that's just gonna be one less good delivery...
Read moreI will NEVER EVER patronize this business ever again, as long as the overnight cashier is working there. There are too many American Deli's in the Atlanta area that I can go to (besides this one) and receive good customer service. I honestly wish I knew the cashier's name so that I could make it very apparent as to whom I am speaking of. However, since I am unaware of that information, I will do my best to describe her physical features. This particular cashier is an African American female (darker skin complexion), average height, with a slender/petite frame. I normally see her with either braids in her hair or just a regular ponytail. I also know that she has a daughter and I believe a sister that works there as well. Nevertheless, this post isn't about her looks, as much as her personality. She is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I have to go to this location a lot, for I am also a delivery driver...and she is always either EXTREMELY LOUD or EXTREMELY RUDE!!! She never greets the customers when we enter and she always seems to have an unpleasant and impolite demeanor about herself. I've tried to overlook her unprofessionalism, but enough is enough. She is unfit to work in a "customer service" driven business. I truly hope her supervisor speaks to her in regards to this matter...but from this point forward they have lost a customer. As well, I will make sure my close friends and family knows not to eat here in the future. I will no longer accept her unbecoming nature just for the sake of some chicken wings and fries. Unfortunately I will probably have to still pick up from this establishment at times, for again I am also a delivery driver, however I will no longer be spending...
