Hmmm.... This is a tough review. I went back and forth on this one on if I was even going to leave a review.
Background.... I had to drop my car off at the mechanic. My car is old so I just drop it off and walk home. Well.... While walking home, it is common for me to just pick some random company to grab some food on the way home. Sometimes it is a hit and sometimes it is a major miss.
Pros.... I really enjoyed the customer service! The team was really nice and worked really hard to make sure that they answered my questions.
Cons... All of the great customer service in the world can not overcome the food!
I ordered a pizza and a salad. I selected the create your own option and the additional toppings were $2 per topping. Knowing nothing about their product, I said fine. I am a big believer in order what I want. lol...
They did prepare me as I did ask. How large is this pizza? They responded that it is equivalent to a medium size pizza. I said fine and still placed my order.
I also ordered a salad. The salad is in my refrigerator now. For $17? I was thinking it would be an amazing salad. Back in the day, I would go to Pappa's chain and order a salad and be so blown away thinking the salad alone is a meal.
For Grace's? Well.... Their salad even with the very little sprinkles of chicken cubes is at best a side salad for 5 bucks.
As for the ranch dressing? That one is tricky as well as technically there is no uniform ingredients for what is considered ranch. I can already tell by looking at it that it is a tub of mayonnaise.
Back to the pizza.... For the most part, I finished almost the whole pizza in one sitting. I have maybe one slice left.
Hmmmm....
It tasted okay. I did enjoy that the pizza dough itself did not feel heavy so that was a plus.
I ordered 5 toppings a $2 each - 1) pepperoni; 2) Italian Sausage; 3)red onion; 4) bell pepper; and 5) fresh basil.
The cheese was mozzarella with their standard marinara sauce.
I thought it was great that my order came out fast, buuuuuuut the toppings were pretty much non-existent.
I can go on, but I will end with this....
I did not get a chance to walk through the restaurant, buuuuuuut from what I could view, it was an amazing setup and looked really nice.
Summary....
Wonderful customer service, amazing atmosphere, but even with inflation..... The quality of the food does not match the price.
I dropped almost 50 bucks on a pizza and salad. If the quality exceeded expectations than I would recommend the restaurant because the customer service was really good.
Buuuuut because the food does not match the price, I unfortunately can not recommend this restaurant.
Have a wonderful day.
Update: I finished the salad and the remaining pizza. Yep, it put me to sleep! Much longer story.....
Although the portion size was super small, the container side was large. Buuuuut the items that are in their favor? The salad was excellent with excellent ingredients, red onion, lettuce, etc.
The dressing initially looked like mayonnaise, buuuuut it was actually ranch and it did taste good!
However, I still think 1 star for my experience is still fair because the although the salad was well made and tasted good, it was not a $17 salad! The portion size was that of a side salad in a large container and it tasted well enough to justify $8 vs a $5 to $7 side salad, but there is no way to justify the $17.
I tend to stick with franchises when I eat, but from time to time I do not try to support local or smaller businesses that are trying to grow. At the same time, unfortunately, I just can not consistently justify almost 50 bucks for a salad and borderline medium pizza.
There is a bright side of the story.
They provide a veteran discount and if you did not know, that is a big deal to me! Meaning companies that are veteran friendly! Soooooo I make no promises, but when I am in the mood for some food and do not want to go to my usual spaces, they will at least have that in their backpocket that I may stop by in the future simply because they...
Read moreI went to their website to place my order for delivery. For starters…there is no indication on their website that they use a delivery service, UberEats. I placed my order and after about 20/30 mins, called the restaurant to make sure it was for delivery and not pickup. The young lady told me that they do not provide delivery, it’s done through UberEats. I explained to her that is not indicated on the site and that I was charged $10 for delivery. If you provide the option for pickup and delivery and are charging $10 for delivery…I am going to assume you provide delivery. She assured me UberEats would pick it up and deliver it because they get a notification or something when an order is placed. I hung up assuming she was correct and proceeded to wait. An hour has passed by now and no pizza. I call back prepared to cancel my order…the young lady tells me that one of their waiters will be delivering it to me. I thanked her (should have cancelled because the pizza has been sitting for an hour now). So I’ve paid $44 for a medium pizza that has sat for an hour. Crazy, I know. I had a long day, sue me. I ordered the R-C Ranch Wagon pizza. It was a $22, medium pizza. The toppings were great, I enjoyed that…however the crust was extremely thin on the bottom and soggy (I’m going to assume because it sat for an hour). I like a sturdy bottom to hold my pizza together when I pick up a slice. I popped the pizza in the air fryer for 2 mins to reheat it…the bottom was still soggy and the toppings kept sliding off. There is a really, some what thick (not dense) crust. It wasn’t great nor terrible…could have used some sauce or something to dip it in…I didn’t eat all of it, so kind of a waste.
Delivery mishap aside…the young lady, Jessica, was very friendly on the phone. The young lady who delivered the pizza was very nice. I do appreciate they tried to make it right. I would have liked to have had a hot pizza. Going forward, may want to have the service provider you use for delivery on your website or a link to them.
I will try this place “dine-in” before I say I...
Read moreWe come here once a month during the happy hour. Today when we went I ordered a create your own with pepperoni and a salad. This should have been a 21 dollar bill. We got our bill and it was 35 dollars. I asked the server and he said the happy hour now ends at 5. He also said that we ordered a Payton’s pepperoni, which we did not and I said that we specifically ordered the CYO. he then told us that the Patons was less expensive so he changed it for us. This is also incorrect. .I asked him when HH changed and he said it’s been that way over a month. My husband then went to the bathroom and there was a sign posted for happy hour CYO until 6 pm. We show it to our server and he says there’s nothing he can do to help us and there is no one available in the store who can help. We saw ryan one of the owners/managers in the restaurant and asked about him and our server kept doubling down on him not being available. I told him that’s ok. We will wait. Eventually another server comes and says what we ordered wasn’t on the happy hour and I explained that our server changed our order without telling us. That server says he can’t do a refund but ryan can. Ryan refunded us the difference in the two pizzas. And ultimately the situation was resolved. We never got an apology from our server for the “mistake” and honestly had it been a mistake and had he been willing to get someone to fix it, I might have blown it off. Instead he told us multiple times that we were wrong and there was no one...
