I stopped by Via 313 in Pearland for their soft opening, and I have to say—it definitely left a good first impression. I’d heard of their Detroit-style pizza before but had never tried it myself, so when I saw they were finally opening a location close to home, I figured it was the perfect chance to check it out.
The vibe walking in was really welcoming. The staff greeted us right away, and even though it was a soft opening and you could tell everyone was still getting into their rhythm, the energy was good. The space itself is stylish but laid-back, kind of industrial with warm touches—exposed brick, big windows, and clean lines. You could easily show up in casual clothes and feel right at home, but it also has a polished feel that makes it a solid date night or group hangout spot.
Now let’s talk about the pizza—because that’s why we’re all here, right?
We ordered two pies to split: The Detroiter and The Omnivore. First of all, the crust? Incredible. Perfectly crisped on the edges, chewy in the middle, and that caramelized cheese on the border? Game changer. The Detroiter had two layers of pepperoni—one underneath the cheese, one on top—and both had a little kick. The sauce was ladled on after baking, which I wasn’t used to, but it really worked. The Omnivore was also a hit, with just the right balance of veggies and meats—nothing soggy or overcooked. You could tell they care about quality ingredients.
They were running a limited menu for the soft opening, which is totally understandable. I would’ve liked to try some of their salads or appetizers, but they were holding those back for the full launch. Service was a little slow at times, but everyone was friendly and genuinely trying their best, which makes a big difference. Our server checked in often, explained the menu well, and even asked for honest feedback since it was their opening phase.
One thing that really stood out was how transparent and open the staff were about it being a soft opening. They made it clear they were still working out some kinks and wanted input, which made the experience feel more personal—like you were part of helping them shape the future of the location.
The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of those minor first-week quirks—slightly slower service, a few menu items unavailable, and one of our pizzas came out a few minutes after the other. Nothing major, and honestly expected for a soft opening, but worth mentioning.
That said, I’ll absolutely be back once they’re in full swing. It’s great to finally have a unique pizza spot like this in Pearland. If you’re tired of the usual chain places and want something with character, depth, and that crispy cheese edge that dreams are made of—Via 313 is...
Read moreDinner night with the kids and we have been wanting to try Via for awhile. The atmosphere and decor work for a sit-down pizza restaurant with a bar area. The deep dish pizza has always been my favorite so I went with the Ambassador Bridge small (4 slices with cheese, natural casing pepperoni, dollops of ricotta cheese, garlic, Detroit sauce, and oregano). After taking the first bite I knew we wouldn't be ordering takeout/delivery from any other pizza chain in the area in the future, it was sooo good! One of the tastiest aspects of the slice was the crust, which our server Ryan said was due to the pan lined with Crisco and cheese placed up to the edge that bakes in and tastes like high quality cheesy bread. The Detroit sauce was also good enough to take a shot of, it was full of flavor and zest. The remainder of the toppings complimented the pizza perfectly and I may have found my favorite collaboration. Two slices and I was full. Ryan visited our table just enough and made our visit feel appreciated for dining with them. Sign up with the app and get $10 on your next visit. Don't sleep on this pizza restaurant if you...
Read moreWe recently checked out a new Detroit-style pizza spot that was on our list to try, and overall it was a great experience! There's plenty of parking, which made things easy right from the start. As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us quickly and warmly. Even with a party of seven, we were seated in no time—big plus!
We ordered two different pizzas: one thin and one thick. Both arrived hot, fresh, and loaded with flavorful toppings. The sauce was a standout—super tasty and clearly made with care. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated that a member of the management team stopped by our table to check in on us. It's always a nice touch when they make the effort.
The only downside was the service, which felt a bit off at times. But since it's a new place, we’re hopeful it’ll smooth out with a bit more time and experience.
All in all, it was a delicious meal and we’re definitely planning to come back to try more of the menu. Looking forward to seeing...
