This spot just opened in Pearland and we were so excited to try it. We came around midday and it was still pretty crowded. Parking was limited but we managed to find a spot. The line was long as expected but moved quickly. The dining room was also pretty crowded and due to the spot being newly open, seating was limited. As for the baked treats, they were pretty awesome. We had a few different things and none of them were disappointing. The Nutella donut was our favorite. The mango coconut cake (not pictured here) was a bit spongy and didn’t have the most flavor but still enjoyable. The matcha filled croissant was probably the only item we didn’t like. It was a tad on the bitter side. The pastries were soft on the inside with a delicious crispy layer. I didn’t get to try their coffee as it was later in the day but I will definitely be back to try more of their menu very soon.
Update: We went back to Paris baguette a few times but recently went and had a disappointing experience. We spent a decent amount for 3 people for snacks and coffee (some for togo) around $80. One of our drinks (the Dubai chocolate one) didn’t taste right. It was extremely sweet, like cleaning solution. We asked if it could be remade or swapped with another item. We were told a flat out no and that their items are made according to set recipes. That is really disappointing customer service. After so many visits and spending so much, to treat a customer this way is just wrong. We even mentioned this to the manager later and she simply stated that it is not a family owned business therefore they cannot afford to remake drinks unless the customer decides to purchase another one at their own expense. We happen to own a restaurant ourselves and would never treat a customer this way. With so many options for treats out there, they should step up their customer service...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Paris Baguette for our oldest son’s birthday. He had one request: cake and pastries. So naturally, we went big — spent over $120 expecting to walk out with something worthy of a celebration.
Well… let’s just say the experience started rocky. They handed us the wrong cake, which is a bold move when you’ve only got one birthday and one shot to make it special. Thankfully, the correct cake was still available, so crisis averted — kind of.
The cake itself? Meh. Not terrible, but not great either. Definitely not the kind of flavor that makes you say “wow” — more like “eh, okay.”
Then came the pastries. Now listen… they look amazing. Like magazine cover amazing. But bite into them, and it’s a different story. A lot were dry, like they’d been sitting in pastry purgatory waiting for someone to take them home. Some of the chocolate had a weird, mysterious flavor that made me stop mid-bite and ask, “What is this?”
The kicker? Finding out that many of the pastries aren’t even made fresh. They’re thawed and reheated in-store. Suddenly, the dry textures and odd flavors made a lot more sense. But it still doesn’t make it acceptable — not at these prices.
For $120+, you expect a bakery experience that feels special. This just felt like a frozen disappointment dressed up in a shiny display case. We wanted a birthday to remember — unfortunately, we will, but not for the...
Read moreThe atmosphere and employees were great. The issue is the food itself. Everything tasted very stale, soggy, and pre-packaged; similar artificial taste to the way a very popular coffee chain pulls their pastries out of plastic packaging before putting it in the oven and calling it “freshly made”. Dubai Mochi donut was stale, tough, and not comparable to the flavor of Dubai chocolate. Coconut croissant was extremely soggy and tough, there was zero flakiness to the pastry. Strawberry croissant was very tough on the exterior, the crème filling was texturally nice, but very artificial tasting. Crème Brûlée pastry had sat so long that the “crunch” factor was lost. Instead, it was sticky sugar and a soggy bun. Lastly, the fruit pastry had very fresh and juicy fruit, but the pastry itself was tough and stale, with the crème filling having little flavor. Overall, I spent $24 here on 5 items. I would not return as the products are not worth it in my opinion, but may still be worth a try if you are not already accustomed to what a good pastry...
