Me and my wife have ate there multiple times over past 6 months and prior to our recent visits was always great; perfect cooked, hot and beautifully presented. My wife is a pastry chef and went to school with the chef at catellos mozzarella bar; the last 2 times went will be our last we went late on 11/11 and our dinning experience was extremely mixed service bad, food was great. The server was more attentive to the 4 top that was getting loud and drunk as she served 4 bottles of wine while we were there and was really pushing her assests out there. The chef who is a family friend popped out to greet us and make sure the food was great; ( had the 3 meat it was perfect, wife had mushroom ravioli awsome as always). As we were leaving the owner and server were drinking with the guests and being totally unprofessional with loud inappropriate language. Well we decided to attend the restaurant this week, decor has been changed more space but same amount of tables but at least the floors are better; food tasted different didnt have the level of flavor and specials hadnt changed in 3 weeks, service was bad same server, with very dismissive personality (takes more than a face and cleavage to be good server) and food took longer than ever before. We ate and left, on way home we called the chef or ex chef who informed us he wasnt there anymore; he didnt explain why. All i can say is to the owner, theres a noticeable difference between the food now and the service is well not good, we'd heard some negatives this past couple wks we...

Catello’s Italian Art Cuisine in Pendleton, Indiana, delivers exceptional food and service that make every visit special. The dishes are flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared, while the staff is attentive and welcoming, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Chef-owner Catello has created a restaurant that feels like a true celebration of Italian cuisine, and his passion is evident in every detail.
We were delighted to meet Catello’s daughter, Chiara, who showed us the INItaly Italian market within the restaurant. The market offers a variety of house-made products, including fresh pasta, sauces, mozzarella, and tempting bakery items and gelato. It’s a great way to bring Catello’s quality home.
Having recently returned from a trip to Italy, we were struck by how closely Catello’s food mirrors the authentic flavors we enjoyed there. The pasta dishes reminded us of meals in Sorrento, with perfectly cooked noodles and vibrant sauces. Even the gelato rivaled what we tasted in Venice—smooth and full of flavor. Catello’s captures the essence of Italian cooking with remarkable authenticity.
For a more casual option, Catello also runs INItaly Pizzeria & Bar in the same block serving hand-crafted pizzas.
We love Catello’s for its authentic Italian cuisine, made with the freshest ingredients and house-made pasta, pizza dough, and gelato. It’s a must-visit in Pendleton, and we’ll...
Read moreI’ll cut to the chase. Arrived there and was seated at a table facing a blaring sun which was ridiculously hot. Asked to move, went back to the waiting area until another table was available. Another couple was seated at the hot table and ended up walking out 2 minutes later. Once we were seated , it took 23 minutes to get menus . 20 minutes later our drink order was taken. 12 minutes later , our drinks arrived….you get the picture on service. Nice waiter, just slow or he had way too many tables. The food was disappointing; horrible value for the size of the salads…5 ravioli for 24-27 bucks, etc. For me, if a restaurant is trying to be “higher-end,” the details matter. The service should be prompt. The portions should be commensurate; the caprese salad was 3 thin (really thin) silver dollar sized pieces of mozzarella, tomato, and basil leaves, drizzled with maybe a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and a teaspoon of olive oil, for $14.00??? Bottom line, they’re trying to be something they’re not. My advice? Teach your hostesses how to seat people and attention to details. Teach your wait staff how to serve, and the meaning of timeliness. Don’t leave the menus for the patrons until they are well into their meal so they have to use them as placemats , or forcing them to place on the floor, or to sit on. I expect way better for a $92.00 bill...
