Invited To The Table is a definitely one of those places that makes you feel at home. I know there’s mixed reviews of service being slow or food not being great but this brunch spot offers a place for great community and I think that’s there goal from what I can read/tell. We were fortunate enough to walk in Saturday midday and had no wait issues. We were helped with ordering by a lovely newer worker. I got the Bae which was delicious! And my husband got the Chicken & Waffles. He said it was good but wish it would’ve been fried chicken as you’d expect with chicken and waffles (but it did say it came with their house made chicken salad which wasn’t bad). The food isn’t a hardy American brunch so it’s not super filling but it’s a great brunch spot in my opinion for a cute coffee date, small group meeting, or study session. We also got the Invited Signature Latte which was great! Only complaint is that for just two waffles, an iced 16oz coffee, side of eggs, and tip - our total was over $40 which seems steep compared to other brunch places that serve much larger portions for the same price, if not less. They have water stations all around the restaurant that you can help yourself too. Plus plenty of seating options both inside and outside. Surprisingly they were not too busy when we went and we had our food and drink in less than 10mins. Once you get your food you’re not necessarily “waited” on since most of their staff is just behind the counter in the kitchen so they do ask you to clear your own dishes from the table - which is no issue in my eyes at all! Even with that though, the restaurant was well kept and clean. The atmosphere is quaint and homey, and fits the vibe for a smaller town like Pendleton. Would definitely come back for a...
Read moreIf you find yourself in Pendleton, IN, and crave a cozy and consistently phenomenal dining experience, "Invited To The Table" is a must-visit gem that has managed to exceed every expectation. This gem specializes in gourmet waffles, transforming a simple breakfast staple into a culinary art form that I truly haven't been able to get enough of.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the "Croque Dijon Monsieur," a waffle that elegantly balances ham, gruyere, gouda, and shredded parmesan, all brought together with a sublime Dijon dressing (although, if you're feeling a little freaky, a small douse of syrup ROCKS with the dish too). It's easily one of the best single bites of food I've had in the state of Indiana.
For those with dietary preferences or restrictions, the restaurant offers gluten-friendly options that are so good, you wouldn't even know they're gluten-free (and, in my opinion, taste better than the traditional variety)! Of course, traditional waffles are also available for the purists who prefer to stick to the classics.
But what truly sets "Invited To The Table" apart is its service. Over the past month and a half, my partner and I have visited four times, and each visit has been a delight. The staff's consistent, top-notch service and the comfortable atmosphere containing natural light and friendly vibes of the restaurant (upstairs, downstairs, and outdoors seating!) makes every meal special, complementing their truly mouthwatering food that should be able to please any customer with...
Read moreI will say that it has great potential. However our experience was not great. We walked in at 8 am very excited to get the cinnamon rolls they post. We had not been there and walked around a couple times just trying to figure out where to go. We finally found the counter where you ring a bell to find someone. They told us the rolls we not ready so we just got waffles instead. After we placed an order and got our own water, we had a seat. Wait wasn't too bad but the food lacked flavor. My waffle had ham and some cheese that wasnt even warm or melted at all. I understand the liege waffles but felt like was just some cold stuff piled on with no sauce or anything so was very dry. The coffee was pretty good. Being 8 am it was empty but, of course, luck would have it, the only other people that decided to come in had to sit right next to us and we couldnt even have conversation as they were so loud and the place has a bad echo. Definitely not what we wanted for our date breakfast. 😕 The price was also very high when there are many high class restuarnts in fishers that have way better food and experience.
Update: They recently posted rolls aren't ready until 9 am so must have gotten...
