Poorly managed, overpriced, underwhelming, and inconsistent.
The typical experience is being met with one (if you’re “lucky” two) disgruntled, impolite, and lazy employee who will make donuts at a pace so slow you’d think it was their first day. Thing is, it probably is. You’ll never see the same employee twice as turnover seems to be an issue here. I don’t blame the employees for the prior issues, nor any that I’m about to list, this is clearly a case of grossly incompetent management/ownership.
The food here is wildly overpriced. Doughnuts or otherwise. And the quality of what you get is extremely random. They also advertise yeast doughnuts on the weekends, but most of the time will say they “forgot” to make them or grab from a pile of stale doughnuts kept at the front counter if you requested yeast.
The interior is, disgusting, for lack of a better word. Dirty and mismatched furniture scattered haphazardly over industrial flooring and walls littered with uncleaned knickknacks. The space is very poorly utilized in both front and back of house. There is no thought or intention behind any of it. It’s infuriatingly careless.
This is the only local doughnut shop, so that kept me coming back for dozens of visits. They changed ownership a couple years back and the decline has been steady. It’s finally time I hang it up and move on.
If you want potentially subpar food, disgusting atmosphere, horrendous customer service, and to pay three times what you’d pay for better elsewhere, this is the place to be! Otherwise, avoid...
Read moreThis is a donut and ice cream shop with a sister store in Fishers, Indiana. It is housed in a very old 1890's building on Main Street in Pendleton but the interior is very modern, making for a fun contrast. The decor is minimalist but with hints of a Hawaiian theme, although I'm not sure of the connection between Hawaii and donuts, to be honest.
The furnishings were metal tables and chairs in a rather stark setting, reminiscent of a warehouse, perhaps. I found it aesthetically appealing but my friend found it uncomfortable.
The prices were pretty high, in our view. I ordered a Chai Latte and my friend got a Caramel Macchiato. Both were flavorful but lukewarm. My friend got a donut egg and cheese sandwich and I got two donuts (maple with blueberry and vanilla with cinnamon toast crunch). Interestingly, you can mix and match your own donut toppings. Overall, the donuts were good if a little sweet for my taste. Service was fast and friendly.
I feel like this is a shop with potential but it didn't really live up...
Read moreI was excited to hear that they served gluten-free donuts. However, one bite into my first doughnut, I immediately regretted wasting my sugar on these. As you can see, I gave the vanilla one a second chance …. But man… they are so dry… like, no fluffiness whatsoever… and the icing is extremely cakey. I was thinking - light glaze, my my donuts are literally soaking in this thick cake like icing. I was hoping for a fluffy, moist doughnut. I understand that gluten-free will never taste the same as a regular doughnut. However, I’ve had gluten-free donuts, and they did not taste anything like this. These were clearly not fresh or they were overcooked, or both. Coming from someone who is not able to eat donuts, I am not picky. I am just happy to be catered to. These donuts do not taste like donuts at all to me. I was going to return them, but I felt bad. I will not be eating these! I tried to like them, but just can’t. I’m so disappointed! I really had my heart set on a good...
