Simple. Honest.
Weber's hearkens back to a different time, when fast food wasn't all about fast, when employees weren't seen as cogs in a machine, and when burgers, fries, and shakes didn't try to compete solely on size. Weber's food is different than most of what you'll find elsewhere... maybe it's due to atmosphere, or memories of similar drive-in burger-shacks with my dad, but I had this to say in the moment: "This burger was not exactly the best burger I've had.. but burger, fries, shake, and the experience.. it's the best burger meal I can remember".
Weber's hasn't reduced their product down to a perfectly repeatable recipe the way the big multi-national chains have. But there's no manager shouting orders or digital timer running tracking how many cars move through the drive thru, either.
This is simple, honest.. real food. The way it used to be. I'm sure from visit to visit things will be different, and that's part of the charm. Other reviews have said it just as well.. maybe the rootbeer was a little flatter than the always consistent stuff you get out of a can.. maybe the fries were a little more crisp than you'd see at some McCorpo joint or the King Queen.
But visiting Weber's was a chance to stop, to breathe, to be present in the moment. The vanilla shake was thick, almost pure ice-cream through a straw. The freshly made fries vanished off the tray. The burgers were simple, but very nice.. I've said it before.. but "honest". Like the burgers you'd get at a family picnic.
If you want a stacked up grease burger, there's a place that makes square hamburgers that'd be happy to help you. But if you want a change of pace from the 'three fast food chains', something you'll only find if you go looking for it.. Drop by Weber's some weekend afternoon.
Simple menu, honest, respectable food. It's wonderful that Webers has made it all these years. Since 1951, and still serving shakes, burgers, hotdogs and root beer.

Read moreI really wanted to enjoy this place. It has a cool vibe, I'll give it that. Also, I have absolutely nothing but positive things for our server. However, the food was ridiculously bad. We ordered cheese-steak, cheeseburger, fries, cheese fries, sweet potato fries, chicken tenders, and a couple of root beers so those are the only thing I can give my opinion on. When I looked at my cheese-steak my mouth dropped as I was in disbelief. Half of a dried up roll with 1 slice of american cheese and ONE piece of lunch meat sadly scrunched at the bottom. Burger was no better. Kids actually enjoyed the chicken "tender" although it was a ground up nugget of low quality. Fries were under cooked and not seasoned at all. Root beer was nothing to write home about, low quality, no defining characteristics. You would think that this cheap gross food would have been cheap, it wasn't. I drove away feeling taken advantage of, and in disbelief how this place got any positive...
Read moreWebers is fantastic. This drive-in style restaurant has a small menu but everything on it is fantastic and has been forever. Webers elicits a warm, friendly, family type feeling that harkens back to a carefree teenage day where friends and families could go out, show off their cars and gather together and enjoy a weekend night. This particular webers reminds me of driving down to the jersey shore. As soon as we would cross the Ben Franklin Bridge from Philadelphia into New Jersey I always crave a burger and fries and of course wash it down with the root beer3 that is what this place is famous for if you've never been here I suggest you go. When you go make sure to ask for Anna, she was so sweet and just a delight to have as a waitress. If the owner reads this, give her a raise and...
