China Inn Buffet — Restaurant in Pennsville Township

Terrible food and customer service. Stay away. I ordered chicken chow mein, sour and sweet chicken, wonton with hot oil.

The chicken chow mein turned out to be chicken with mysterious yellow color rice . The rice smells oily and tastes like wood. See the first picture.

Sour and sweet chicken turned out to be fried chicken with super thick crust. Not at all the typical orange chicken. This dish also comes with the same mysterious yellow color stale rice. See the second picture.

Wonton with hot oil turns out to be lukewarm dumplings covered with thick tomato souce. Wonderful. What do you mean by hot oil? See the third picture.

I called the restaurant and they argued this is their version and they had done like that for 30 years. I am not sure whether the chef, if there is one, just had a bad day or the covid pressure really hit this restaurant into desperate situations. But business like that won't last.

Great food always hot and ready, have been here multiple times at various hours. The variety is great and the price for lunch is no more than 10 dollars for all you can eat and a drink with refills. I don't really understand the problem with the 2 other comments. This is Chinese food most places have very similar flavor. You can't beat this PRICE AND QUALITY. I prefer their sweet and sour chicken over any place in Salem county, they also have almost any Chinese food you can think of.. general Taos, beef and broccoli, lomein, anything you would order is there and some extra including deserts and appetizers. Customer service is unmatchable, anything that isn't out on the buffet bar you can ask for and they will refill or bring it out. I've been to other Chinese buffets before, and they would almost always watch over you the whole time you're there. They would hover over you while you're eating and will drop off the bill while you're not even through your second plate, and will even demand a tip from you! This place, however, isn't like that at all! They actually respect you, and they treat you the way they would wish to be treated! They make sure your drinks are always filled, and they make sure everything's going good for you. Don't see something you want to have? No worries! Just ask and they'll make it for you!
