New York Fried Chicken & Grill — Restaurant in Pennsville Township

I went to this New York Fried Chicken for the first time on 10/4/25. I ordered 4 legs, seafood salad and collard greens. The order was ready within 5 minutes after placing it, which was great, although there were was some short comings when it came to the food.

The fried chicken was hot, fresh and good! Next we have the seafood salad, which is made with "crab meat" and shrimp supposedly. The crab meat was imitation crab meat and immigration crab meat is always distinguishable because its round red and white and does not taste like crab at all. Imitation crab meat is fish ground up with other added ingredients, crab not being one of them, and shaped into these little round, long red and white sticks. This establishment should have said it was made with imitation crab meat and not just say it was made with crab meat, so that is blatantly lying and deceiving customers to sell a product and of course it didn't taste good or even have shrimp in there.

Next was the collard greens, which they say on their website, "Tender collard greens slow-cooked with savory seasonings and smoked meat for a rich, hearty flavor." They were tender and that was it. It had no flavor, forget a hearty flavor and savory seasonings. These were the most bland watered down greens I ever probably tasted. They had meat in it and can taste a little bit of smokiness but there was no flavor of any kind beyond that very slight smokiness you can taste. Again this establishment lied about their food. Whoever mad these greens and even if they were made by them they added a bunch of water to stretch them and/or didn't care about what they were serving to their customers because anyone serving them and have tasted them would have known that they were not fit to serve.

I would not recommend this spot to anyone just because you get good fried chicken because if they serve terrible sides and don't don't care I wonder how clean they are at preparing the food and their practices in the kitchen. Any restaurant that serves knowingly bad and subpar food definitely don't care about care about cleanliness in the kitchen and with proper handling of food among the staff in my opinion especially since I've worked in the food industry for years and seen that at same thing over and over again. People who care about good food going out also care about the cleanliness of the staff, kitchen and bathrooms.

I give them two stars instead of one because the chicken was hot, fresh and good and was ready promptly.

One last note, restaurants, please stop serving plastic utensils not individually wrapped to your customers. We do not know who's hands have touched the eating utensils and even if those...

Look at this beauty! You couldn’t find this anywhere else but at that store!!! I was really hungry n’ stopped by to get something to eat n’ said let’s try something different, they suggested me to try the grilled chicken.. I was hesitated as I had a bad experience previously, but they were certain about how I would change my mind! when I opened the container n’ saw n’ smelled it, I realized that it was the perfect suggestion! portion wise it is good enough for two people, the tase was amazing n’ beyond!!! Even the look as you see in the photo, it was like a painting of a beautiful colorful scene! The only thing is that you need to wait for it about 10 minutes to be cooked coz it is charcoal grilled. The food is delicious delicious delicious!!!!. Delicious!!! I got the grilled chicken with vegetables no rice.

This is my second time eating here. I love this place. And the staff, they're so very kind and it really means a lot to me, being an African-American to have someone treat you with kindness and respect.

The first time I came in, the woman behind the counter was very, very nice and greeted me with a smile. Second time I came in, there was a gentleman behind the counter, and he greeted me with the same smile.
