Hotrods Sub Shop — Restaurant in Pennsylvania

This place is a fraction of its former glory. $14 for a decent 12" sub is NOT unreasonable in 2025 ... However, with the exception of the bread, the sandwiches at Hot Rods have gone completely downhill over the years and apparently 2025 marks the worst of it. I don't even think they are 12" anymore. There is barely any meat on these sandwiches...Very little cheese.....And to put it plainly, it simply is NOT worth the price, anymore. This was literally the thinnest sub sandwich I have ever purchased ( These people should be embarrassed but somehow aren't). This occasion does mark my final visit to this once great establishment. If you don't like meat on your sub, but you want bleeding gums from an over toasted bread and mayo sandwich, this is your place. The amount of deli meat and cheese on their subs is, or should be an embarrassment to them. Literally one or two paper thin pieces and that's no exaggeration. Not enough to actually taste what kind of sub you're eating. Sadly they don't care what you think either. I can't believe this place has been open as long as it has. I love food and almost never leave a bad review but this place is worth passing...

The subs we purchased looked nothing like the photos above. I don't know what year that photo was taken. We paid $9.25 per Hot Rod sub that had less than average meat. I would say 2 tbsp of lettuce and the thin skin of the tomato, which i would toss out! They should be ashamed of themselves! The owner even made our subs. Brought one over to my parents cause we haven't had one for years, since the Ohio locations closed up. My dad said he wouldnt pay more 50 than cents for that sub. Lol The bun was good.
