I hate giving 1 star ratings to any business. In fact, the reason why I'm so irate is probably due to my own insanity. I keep going back to this same establishment expecting something to change. Instead, it continually gets worse. The last issue that I had warranted a call to their corporate office to leave a complaint. Today was their last shot. And they blew it. This review is about the Popeyes in Hermitage, Pennsylvania and is not an overall reflection of the company as I'm sure their other establishments must be better than this.
My order wasn't complicated. One single spicy chicken sandwich. That's it. I was handed the bag at the drive-thru and I left. 5 minutes into driving, I opened the bag to get the sandwich. To my surprise, they literally tossed the sandwich itself into the bag. There was no sandwich wrapper or those 'sandwich bags' they typically use that have the foil on the inside. The inside of the bag was covered with the sauce and had already started leaking through. No napkins were given, either. The sandwich itself was room temperature at best. I tried a bite and threw the rest of it out. It was disgusting. I'm not even mad about the $4.23 the sandwich costed me. It's the lack of care and service that makes me enraged.
This establishment in particular has served us cold food in the past.
I once waited nearly 30 minutes for my meal in the parking lot because they didn't have it prepared. Found out they forgot about me. Never got an apology.
I have witnessed horseplay in the restaurant between the employees multiple times.
I've tried to call the restaurant multiple times in the past to at least talk with a manager about these issues. No one ever answers the phone and the voicemail doesn't work.
We've had a few other issues that I won't mention since Google limits me to the amount of characters I can type.
It seems like others who have left positive reviews have had good experiences here. You may also have a good experience at this particular establishment. I, however, can't recall one single time I didn't have something messed up. Maybe someone who works here has a vendetta with me. Maybe I just look mean and they want to irritate me with cold chicken and bad service. Maybe they genuinely don't care about their jobs. I'm not sure. But it absolutely blows my mind how they can mess up literally everything I order. Maybe it was my own fault for coming back so many times.
You've lost a customer, Popeyes. But I'm sure you'll survive without...
Read moreOnly reason I gave this establishment 1 star, is because it wont allow me to select 0 STARS. Popeyes in general is NOT that great of an eatery. This one in Hermitage is in NO way an exception. The food was ice cold. The biscuits are just yellow hockey pucks. If I had to put money on it, I bet they actually weigh more than a standard 6oz puck, my money is on 3lbs. The employees were all dressed as if they were trying out for the "Lost Boys" part in Peter Pan. Their shirts were untucked, their hair looked as my chicken crunchies did at the bottom of my serving tray. I dont think the employees understand the open kitchen concept. I believe they think that open kitchen means to be as loud as possible and open up to the customers about their weekend hook-ups, alcohol and drug rendezvous. I took my fiance' there because she had never been to a Popeye's before, and it has been several years since I have dined at one as well. I decided, "what the heck? Why not give Popeye's a 2nd chance?" Just on cue, from the moment I walked into this restaurant, to the experience in ordering my food, to trying to swallow frozen rubbery biscuits to slime covered, less than mediocre chicken, I remembered why I will NEVER eat at another Popeye's again. KFC was under a lot of heat for cutting the chickens beaks off to ensure the tenderness of their chickens, however I think Popeye's should cut the cord on their business, close the doors and allow the American people to be able to swallow their meals with integrity. Shut this franchise...
Read moreOut running errands most of the day so I decided to treat myself to dinner. Had a variety of coupons and was looking forward to enjoying my Popeyes' when I got home. I was the only car in the drive through so the service was fairly fast. Ordered 5 piece, 2 sides and 2 biscuits. After paying drove straight home, 5 minutes. Changed clothes and sat down to eat. I looked at the chicken and was greatly disappointed 😞But it was the biscuits that pushed me over the edge. They were hard as rocks. I grabbed my purse and the bag and returned to Popeyes. Again, the only car in the drive through. Explained to the clerk that I wanted my money back and she refunded my money and asked me could she get me a pie or a drink...I told her I just wanted dinner. She asked if I would take mild as a substitute and made me a fresh order and added 2 pies. I ate when I got home and I was not impressed with the replacement. I have eaten Popeyes for a number of years and in varuos locations from Virginia, OH, and DC. I don't know if they have changed the recipe 🤔 but it was not the Popeyes...
