I'm not a huge burger fan. I find it very difficult to find a 'good' burger. So read this with that in mind. I had a burger with pretty much everything, including jalapeños. It was cooked right, not over done. And it had a nice flavor. Even the fries were pretty good. They did not have that fake out-of-a-bag "crispy " coating on them, that you get at so many places. I would definitely get the fries again. They have several tables at this place; you order at the window and you go get your food when it's ready. The girl that took our order was not thrilled to be there. My guess is, she found the job mind-numbingly boring. :-) Not exactly a glamorous job. :-) But that's not a big problem. I can understand it. The atmosphere was much more of a bar scene, rather than a place to have a pleasant lunch. The music was much too loud; and our table was not near any speakers. You could tell that people were having to talk overly loud to be heard. It was hard to carry on a conversation, even with the person sitting next to you. So that was a bit irritating. It was unusually cold that day; and as expected for that area, it was breezy. They had a few heaters at some of the tables, but several did not. Our table did not, and we were uncomfortably cold. It would have been nice if the heaters had been arranged better to provide some warm air to all the tables. But I'm sure that is a rare problem for them. Overall, it was an OK experience. I think they should pay a bit more attention to how the atmosphere, service, and comfort level affects their customers. No single item was a big issue; but it all adds up. I can't say there is any big reason to go back again. But, if we happen to be in the area again, and we want a burger, we won't have much of a problem...
Read moreThis was the most disappointing experience. I've wanted to try proper burger for quite some time and finally got to. I ordered the special grilled chicken bacon ranch and the wife a single as a lettuce wrap. We also got an order of tallow fries which we have liked everywhere we've had them... ill start by saying we expected to eat half and take half home as we often do. The fries were decent but way over seasoned... we bagged half and when we got home Iit became detectable in the flavor that the seasoning was hiding an apparent freezer burn flavor. :( My wife received a cold single on A BUN and I took it back up to the window. When I showed the girl who took the oirder, she got the attention of the other who addressed the concern with a sort of sideways look half smile and "ok" ,,,, about 2 mins later she gave back the same cold burger on some lettuce,,,, the wife took a bite and spit it out because something was sour... It was the beef.. it had a strange smell and funky taste.... she was turned off and didn't want to bother addressing there due to her now low expectations. My chicken was good,,, but for the price of $13.99 i think two of the same named sandwich at CookOut,, or Wendy's or even chili's or Dennys would be as good , bigger and maybe cheaper.... really just a disappointing experience as I could ever have,,, and thats a first time I've had a bad review for ANY food truck.. total bill $35 plus tip for a value...
Read moreGreat customer service really truly, actually some of the best customer service I've had in Pensacola. People are just friendly and make you feel welcome.
Cost is commiserate with what you're getting and the standard set by other burger places and restaurants in the area.
I just got the regular single burger and I have to say that ,no hyperbole, it's one of the best regular hamburgers I've had in Pensacola. Nothing extravagant it's just a good classic hamburger, and I think that's what makes it good.
So often restaurants especially" fancy" restaurants want to create an allure around their food and they make some upscale monstrosity that's loaded up with every sauce and condiment that you can imagine. I think the hamburger is best when it's simple because that's when it's perfect, when it's pure without any adulteration. They get that here, they understand the perfection of simplicity.
The fries were equally good, supposedly fried in beef tallow which only furthers their gastronomic sensuality.
I would not however recommend the Pensacola orange/lavender soda that they sell. It has this strange Off-Putting flowery taste and aroma, that while I imagine some would enjoy was just certainly not to my liking.
Anyway five stars 100%, I'll definitely be back, thanks for the great burger and the...
