I went through the drive thru Saturday night. I ordered the 2 beef taco combo and 1 shredded beef burrito. When she handed the bag to me it felt quite light for this much food. I took the burrito out and saw that it was smaller than usual. I typically get a combo meal for that night and the burrito for next days lunch. So I get home excited to dig into my combo meal only to find out that the tacos are virtually empty. One was barely thicker than and empty shell. The second was only slightly fuller. My excitement turned to disappointment. I got out my phone and took pictures cause I'm immediately not happy about the meal I just paid almost $20 for. I held both tacos together and they are still smaller than what 1 beef taco usually would be. I'm trying to figure out if this was managements idea or if this was a mistake from the cook. Did management instruct the cooks to slim down the portions on all food? Or was this a simple mistake? I'm aware that costs have gone up for all of us and I'm not sure how much it's affected Filibertos but if this is the new normal then I won't be coming back because $20 just isn't worth it for these portions. I should have driven right back to the place to complain but I was already home and starving. I can honestly say that the burrito was good but it was about 25% smaller than a I've gotten in the past. Because of the smaller sizes I was able to eat the combo meal and burrito in one sitting. Typically, I would be stuffed after the combo even with my daughter sharing with me. If I ever come back I will question the portion size next time before I order and check before I leave. Because honestly, I'd rather keep the money and spend it...
Read moreTheir Daily Specials are reasonably priced but everything else is still expensive only if you're willing to try their food which is very good except all the tacos have very little meat, dried-up chicken or "toothpick sized" fish (or none at all) @ $4.29 even at their Tuesday/Friday Daily Special price for fish (toothpick-sized) "coleslaw" tacos or dried-up chicken tacos (no lettuce or tomato) which I only saw in it. I never had coleslaw "in" a taco usually it's supposed to be on the side. They did bring back the salsa bar bar. You can now put sliced onions, jalapenos, carrots, or cucumbers in your tacos, burritos, or quesadillas. Head over to El Heroico Guaymas for fish tacos, it's a small fish and seafood restaurant. I've read the reviews and agree to all the negative reviews, I've been coming here a long time to this Filibertos location but less and less. Their Daily Specials and single ordered entrees have become somewhat an expensive "Taco Bell" food, so beware there is still produce shortages everywhere. Yet I cannot understand why raise the prices on the Daily Specials or make better choices on the rest of the menu. Typical how Corporate gets around to cost-cutting the food and not the prices. I guarantee they have lost customers and more employees to the new restaurant around the corner "Someburros". (Some of their food can come "extra crispy", tried it "too greasy like a Mexican".)...
Read moreFantastic food and prices. Taco Tuesday's are 99¢ per full sized taco!!! (Not all Filibertos have 99¢ on their Taco Tuesday's) I just spent total of$39.99 (with tax included) for 15 tacos (10 chicken and 5 beef), side of large rice, side of large beans, and three large Horchata drinks! No joke. Oh, and their Horchatas are homemade!! No gritty dry mix is served here! These Horchatas are to die for. My son looks forward to the days I bring dinner home from here. One time the ran out of Horchatas and he was so disappointed 😞 to miss out on it that week. They also run daily dinner specials. The chimichangas are fantastic 😻 so big I can get two meals out of one. I think Thursday is the meal special for a chimi, rice & beans dinner at $7.99. Each weekday has one meal special on the menu. Inside is nicely decorated and very clean. Very clean kitchen also. Their hot sauce bar recently reopened after a 4 year pandemic shutdown. It's so nice to see things going back to normal again. Friendly, helpful staff and accommodating to your special orders & food allergies & substitutions. Been going there for 10+ years. Their great quality food and service remained consistent even during the worst of the pandemic. Great place, great prices so please support this Filibertos location at 83rd...
