Wow! I'm so glad we tried Nineteen 86. I read great reviews and wanted to try it. Based on the reviews I had high expectations, and they were still exceeded.
My wife and I had dinner last night for our 38th wedding anniversary. Reservations using Open Table was smooth and quick. It's part of Diamond Desert Casino, so we parked and walked through the casino and followed the signs. We don't gamble and we're amazed at all the folks at the slot machines. It was a happening place!
The atmosphere and furnishings are impressive. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar, and it is a very nice bar with great help and generous drinks. Very professional hostess brought us to our table. Water was poured for us, and a bread basket brought to our table for us to make a selection from their many options.
Our server was Alejandro and he was exceptional. He took our drink orders (Old Fashioned and a Moscow Mule). We split a Heirloom Tomato and Mozzarella Salad as an appetizer. She ordered a Filet with a loaded baked potato, I ordered a filet, mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. The steak comes on a plate by itself and the sides are delivered family style with enough to each be shared by 2-3 people. We ended bringing home the entire baked potato and half the mushrooms. Midway through the meal we renewed our cocktails.
Alejandro informed us that management would like to offer a dessert to us for our anniversary celebration. We chose the Chocolate Decadence, a layered cake, ganache, served with vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. We ate the ice cream and brought the cake home.
We've dined at Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Fleming's, Durant's and other wonderful steakhouses, and we both feel this is on par with the best we've had. The appetizer, filets, side dishes and dessert were all so delicious, we wouldn't have changed a thing. Next time maybe we will show some restraint on the side dishes. The drinks were also perfect, and was Alejandro's service.
It was a remarkable dinner and combined with the ambiance and service created a wonderful experience...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Arizona from out of town and decided to have a nice dinner somewhere. This restaurant wasn't too far from where we stayed, so we decided to try it. I didn't pay attention to the fact that it is in a casino and was upset with myself when I arrived because I can't handle cigarette smoke. But it's a non-smoking casino! So I was very happy to find that out.
The restaurant was very easy to find and we were sat immediately. Our waiter was Ken LeBlanc, and he was FANTASTIC!! A great waiter!
We ordered the Sunday special, which was steak, yorkshire pudding, veggies, and mashed potatoes. The meat was so very well cooked and very juicy! But...it was also salty. 😕 We are not steak connoisseurs, so we didn't realize that the cut of steak we ordered was very fatty. We've learned our lesson for the next time. We also had the French onion soup that was wonderful, and the crab cake appetizer was just OK.
I then ordered two apple berry cobblers to-go for a friend and myself because it sounded delish. When we ate them, we both got stomach aches and had difficulty sleeping that night. I am appalled that we got sick from dessert from such a nice restaurant! I had to throw the rest away (along with money spent).
Lastly, as we were sitting there, we could overhear the loud talking and laughing of the employees in the kitchen area. One of the other diners yelled something, including cuss words at them, and I agreed, because it's a nice restaurant where people go for a nice, QUIET dinner, not some social club! One of the waitresses came around and apologized for their behavior and informed us that they were told to keep it down.
My husband was most unhappy with his experience, so I doubt we'll go back, but it was a good experience at...
Read moreOn the evening of Wednesday 4/26, my family of 5 went to our reserved dinner plans at Ninteen86 Steak House. While I would love to base this rating on the food, I cannot because we never received our meals. We sat and after 2 hours, ultimately made the decision to leave. What lead to this decision, allow me to explain. We sat and started off fantastic as Amy set us up with drinks and gave a full rundown of the menu, she was great and this review should not represent her. Amy let us know our order was following a large group, but as soon as we saw the big order come out of the kitchen ours would be right behind it. That was not the case, roughly 6 carts of food went out, and none were ours. Eventually at about hour 2 the manager Laura came over and gave the most insincere “apology for the wait” and left our table. We made the table decision that whatever was happening behind those kitchen doors would not be up to the expectations that we had nor the quality we deserved at this point so we left. It was now nearly 9:30 PM and had to find somewhere else to celebrate my father’s birthday dinner. I reached out to Laura to share our experience concerns and hoped to hear what had happened with an offer to make it up to us. She replied with a canned, underwhelming email and Joaquin shared the same subpar care for our experience. There are many many other steakhouses in the area that deserve your hard-earned money and time. Avoid this establishment at all costs, if they cannot perform on a Wednesday night I would hate to see what happens on a busy weekend. They don’t care for their guests, you should not care to dine with them. Do better...
