Hunan Village — Restaurant in Petaluma

I rarely ever make the time to write a review and I love garlic and was so disappointed when my favorite place in San Rafael to get the best garlic chicken ever closed for remodeling and never reopened. Ive been searching for at least 4 years for anything close.

I have had a lot of deliveries from Hunan and has always been very good and never noticed they had garlic chicken on the menu. Yesterday I accidentally ordered their Princess Chicken. Though I was ordering from a different restaurant...long story. Anyway...anyplace I order garlic anything from wether Italian or Chinese or any garlic food I always ask for 4 times the normal garlic. Usually most garlic meals or garlic bread never have enough.

Anyway the Princes Chicken and sauce with lots and lots and lots of garlic was FANTASTIC!!!!!! My new favorite garlic chicken by a long long ways. Now one of my favorite meals out. Thank You Hunan...

I was impressed, such a humble looking place but the food was sooo good. I took hot&sour soup and shrimp dumplings and they were just awesome. They deliver as well! I recommend :) PS. I took my family to Hunan Village - we all enjoyed this place so much! This unpretentious, authentic restaurant has charmed all of us. Our waiter was just adorable - she joked and laughed and made us feel so welcomed. We met the owner as well and I want to assure you - when such a nice people run the business, everything falls in place. Food is sacral - you want to have positive energy and enjoy your meal fully. I asked the waiter if my Szechuan chicken came with vegetable, and he said no; it came with broccoli when served. Then I asked for it to be extra spicy because the menu says it’s spicy already; it came, and it was sweet. I should have just looked at the website to see the pictures of the food to better understand the dishes because the waiter was not accurate on the dishes I asked about. Even though my dish was sweet, it still was not flavorful at all. The service was very poor, because the waiter never even checked in with me to make sure everything was OK.
