Eggspresso cafe — Restaurant in Petaluma

Great breakfast, friendly people, we went here on New Years for breakfast and loved everything about this place. We ordered avocado toast(the millennials that we are), a side of salad(arugula with cheese),the sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and cappuccinos. The avocado toast is topped with egg and avocados, of course. It tasted sublime. The toast comes with salad(arugula with cheese), and the salad hit the spot as well. The side of salad made for a healthy breakfast. The sausage sandwich tasted great as well, the patty was quite delectable. The cappuccinos tasted like, well, how cappuccinos should taste—a little frothy and a lot like morning sunshine.

The cashier was quite friendly, and she along with other people working there regularly checked on us to see if we liked everything, stellar customer service! It wasn’t too busy on New Years and the service was very prompt. They’ve seating both inside and outside, in case you want to sit outside in the sun and bask in the sunshine(if it is not too cold) while you gorge on your breakfast. They’re conveniently located in Plaza South and are quite conspicuous, so you cannot miss them. There’s ample parking available outside, so that’s convenient too. There’s free wifi inside too, the credentials for which are written on one of the walls.

We order from this place many many times and have been very happy with there service and Food. Today we place another big order for our office. We order two chicken club sandwiches 1 with a side of fruit and the other 1 with a side of potatoes. Along with 7 other meals. I understand that thing can be missed on such a big order. I called and told the person that the potatoes were missed on one of the orders. She checked with the chef and he insisted it was place in the order , then she said if you want to come back and get MORE potatoes we can. I told her it not that i want more potatoes and i never got them in the first place. She was rude and made me feel like i was lying to get more food.. I wont be going to back to them. I couldn't believe the way i was treated. It's so not like them. I wonder if they are under new management. Also to top it off they didn't give us our coffee we Order and was told when the order was picked up. (Please note the person picking up the order didn't place it so she didn't know what she was picking up) that we should have asked for the coffee....

I’ve been here 4 times now. Initially I was impressed, they have lowered my opinion each time I came back. This time will be the last time.

Today they charged a $1.05 surcharge to my bill for paying with my debit card.

On my previous visit they took my debit card and charged me for another tables bill, $75+ dollars, and also charge me for my bill ($25+ dollars). Then said “oh we’re sorry, we charged you over $100 but you’ll get the money back in a day or two (it took my bank 5 days to return the credit for the money to my account).

Additionally, today they served several people who arrived after me and ordered after me first.

I’m done, they are basically ripping off every customer that uses a card for over a dollar. Bank & card fees don’t charge businesses $1.05 for every transaction.
