We were passing through Petaluma and the first sandwich shop we went to, we felt hostile from the patrons immediately as we walked in, so we left. The atmosphere here is much better and inviting. This sandwich is inside the Active fitness center, you do not need to be a member to eat here.
The sandwiches are excellent and a solid deal for the quality and quantity. We got the Point Reyes and the Cubano. The ingredients combination in each sandwich did not overpower one another and went well together. The pickled veggies were especially good and pickled well, it wasn’t too vinegary. The sourdough bread itself was delicious; it was sour, soft, and the crust was not tough and easy to chew. The sandwich size itself is huge, roughly ten inches. I appreciated the wrapping of the sandwich. The sandwiches are wrapped once, sliced with the wax paper, then wrapped again in wax paper and given to you. This made it easy for us to eat the sandwiches and also for me to pack away the other half of mine.
The smoothie itself was equally delicious and great bang for buck also. I got the Tropics and I could taste the real fruit. The drink itself was also filled to the tippy top. I appreciated that all the smoothies were made with oat milk, this is a personal preference, but oat milk is just delicious.
I will be coming back when I go through the area. I want to try one of the vegetarian or vegan sandwiches next time, those sounded amazing too...
Read moreThe local is a place I have wanted to try for quite some time, but had just had not made it in there. With the new location right in the center of east side Petaluma I really had no excuse and had to stop by. Walking in you can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their work. The location has been completely revamped from when it was a burger place. It was clean and classy looking inside. There is a bench to sit at while waiting for your food and maybe half a dozen tables where you can sit if you would like to eat there. I was a bit dazed after just getting off of work and struggled to really go through the menu so I just decided to start at the top and get "The Petaluma". Turkey and avocado is a classic sandwich staple and what better way to test out a new spot. It did not disappoint! I opted for the Dutch Crunch that was recommended at the counter. Often Dutch Crunch can be hard, dry, and a bit difficult to eat, but this was not the case. Soft with a nice crunch on the exterior. I was surprised to taste a bit of zest. After double checking the menu I realized that they use a lemon aioli and pickled opinions. I let my wife try and we both agreed it was a welcomed upgrade. I look forward to returning and trying the next item...
Read moreWhy is this advertised as a sandwich place/restaurant? This is a snack booth inside a gym 😂 I feel completely bamboozled driving all the way here. Totally marketing scam.
EDIT: in response to the businesses response; yes I did step inside, after driving around the lot for 10 min because there is not one, and I mean not one, single sign for the establishment or indication that it exists- not even the door for the wellness center had a sign or decal on the window with the businesses name. Once you go inside, it wreaks like chlorine and smells like…a gym. This made us immediately leave. No disrespect to the size of your business, but it is similar to a kiosk in the airport. I can’t speak to the quality of the food, so I’m sure you are right that it’s great. It just isn’t a place you go to sit down and eat a sandwich, which the google listing paints it as since there is no mention on your end that it is located inside a gym. I really suggest getting a folding sign with an arrow with your name or logo on it for the sidewalk, or indicating in any way from the outside of the building, that has tinted windows, that you are...
